  • "Probably the best property we have stayed in."

A small thing but we would have preferred bath sheets as opposed to bath towels as they are larger. We did experience the low water pressure which affected the electric shower downstairs. If this could be remedied it would be marvellous. Thank you for a lovely week.

  • "Sometimes you do not want to write these reviews because it will increase the bookings and we might not get back, but that is selfish."

The Bullpens for us is just perfect. Even with the Grandchildren this year. But when they left it returned to perfect peace and quiet, great walks up in the hills or around the shore, the beach at Sandend nice and quiet. The house was as it was in July 22, well maintained, the washing machine hood and cooking hob foxed us, top of the range technology where we are used to old school. Just as well we had the kids.A really lovely weekend.

  • "The Bullpens is an excellent property, the type of property you would love to own."

Beautiful flowers and generous welcome pack were waiting for us on our arrival, a special touch. The property is located close enough to the sea front to walk both east and west of Sandend. Sandend itself is a picture perfect fishing village with an excellent beach. The beaches along this coastline were all looked after by the communities and very well kept, and so are the public conveniences. We came back to Bullpens after superb walks each day and warmed up with a roaring log fire. Our only slight discomfort was the sofa. Found it quite low and during the evening we sort of slid off it and have to reposition the cushions. We will definitely recommend this property.

Very comfortable. Situated close to various places. Dave and Yvonne very welcoming and happy to help, should we have required assistance. Will probably revisit Bullpens. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.

  • "Amazing location and property location of the TV was a little awkward."

Really beautiful and well equipped kitchen and lovely flow to the cottage with an exceptionally high standard finish.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you liked the Bullpens and apologies for the TV position. Due to the layout of the living area we were limited to installing the Smart TV on the wall. There is however, a heavy-duty wall bracket which permits adjustments to the tilt and horizontal swing. The house itself is beautifully designed and furnished. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Our hosts really made it extra special with their kindness and genuine wish to ensure guests enjoy their holiday, recomending good local restaurants and even offering to drive us there. Never met such amazing hosts in any holiday home. Thank you Yvonne and Dave.

We had some snow but were lucky to have sun nearly every day which shone through the large windows. Underfloor heating was lovely but we loved the log burner. Lovely outlook with wildlife. Highlight was seeing a badger at night. Dave and Yvonne were lovely and very helpful. We loved Bullpens.

Dear guest, many thanks for the feedback and we are very glad you loved the Bullpens. We've also seen the badgers very early in the morning. Very beautiful creatures. As a place to stay it is perfect. We were welcomed by David who was friendly, helpful and a pleasure to meet. The house is beautifully designed and the finishes are top quality. As we were 3 generations staying together the downstairs bedroom was very welcome for my mother but any of the bedrooms would have been ideal. Each individually decorated and very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean and modern; and the kitchen had everything you needed to cook every day or just to enjoy the recommended local fish and chips or local farm bought produce. We are already planning to come back and would love to bring more family with us next time. Thank you for having us!

The outdoor area for children was amazing, our boys were very excited. A private garden, a shared garden with swing ball, a badminton net and another garden with football goals! We were working and heading to school while our house completed, but would have made even better use of these areas had we been on holiday. A lovely offering of wine, cheese and grapes on arrival, which was a nice touch. Ran by hosts who helped when we needed it from introductions, to information on the farm shop opening hours at the end of the drive, to bringing a hot water bottle when our child had earache. A great place!

The house comfortably accommodated our group of 4 adults and 2 children. The house was well equipped and immaculate inside and out. The house and the grounds look so much better in real life than they do on the pictures. David and Yvonne were fabulous hosts and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good break. We will definitely return and would most definitely recommend Bullpens. The only downside was that we had to leave this beautiful home set in an idyllic location at the end of what was a fabulous week!
