Deep in the countryside, our Germoe holiday cottages are dotted in and around the rural hamlet of Germoe, named after a 5th Century Irish saint. They're off the well-trodden tourist track yet a mere mile from the southern coast.

Sweeping Praa Sands is a wonderful spot to while away the days. There are water sports for the active, golden sand for budding sculptors and bistro tables with ocean views for foodies. Come down in the evening for sundowners and romantic meals or fetch the family for paddles and picnics. Rinsey Head, Prussia Cove and the harbour of Porthleven are also close by. And if you play golf, Praa Sands Country Club welcomes visitors and overlooks Mount's Bay.

Some of Cornwall's best-known attractions are a short drive away. Just down the road are the dazzling beaches of Mount's Bay and attractive town of Marazion, gateway to St. Michael's Mount. This enchanting island proudly floats offshore, reached via a causeway or boat depending on tides and is home to a small community and medieval castle. Climb the turrets for amazing views, enjoy live music on the green or sample local delicacies at the Island Café. Continue west along the coast to Penzance, Mousehole and ultimately Land's End. Closer still to your Germoe holiday let is Pengersick Castle, where you can join guided tours of this supposedly haunted fort. Or explore the wonderful Godolphin Estate in the care of the National Trust, an utterly romantic house and garden, with riverside walks, birds, butterflies and bats, plus the chance to really get-away-from-it-all.
