Just show me Gwinear Cottages

Our Gwinear holiday cottages are ideal for exploring western Cornwall and are popular with walkers, surfers and families alike. Nearby Hayle is a good-sized town with shops, restaurants etc, plus a long, dune-backed beach where you can flop on the sands, check out the rock pools or ride rolling waves. Other fabulous beaches close to our Gwinear holiday rentals include Porthmeor, Carbis Bay, Godrevy and Portreath.

Walking & wildlife

In the care of the National Trust, Godrevy Head is a spellbinding spot where sandy shores meet awesome cliffs. Walk around the promontory via the coastal path and soak up the views across St. Ives Bay, watching out for seals at Mutton Cove and nesting birds on the steep-sided cliffs. Or come in winter for windswept walks on empty beaches, hound in tow. If wildlife's of interest, the Hayle Estuary is an important stopping off point for migratory birds and is managed by the RSPB. Thousands upon thousands of birds gather in cold winters while spring and autumn brings wading birds, gulls and terns.

Days out from your Gwinear holiday home

For amazing art and coastal scenery head west to St. Ives, home to The Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. To the south, Marazion and Mount's Bay from where you can amble across the causeway or hop on a boat to St. Michael's Mount. Or drive down to Land's End for wild landscapes and various tourist attractions. Or enjoy a round of golf with the kids at Gwinear Pitch & Putt, offering reasonable rates and all equipment.
