Explore the historic town of Bodmin and its spooky old jail. Check
out the local riding schools and hack across Bodmin Moor, known for its eerie
landscapes and granite tors. Cycle the Camel Trail, an
award-winning off-road route linking Padstow, Wadebridge and Bodmin.
Head for the beach! Take your pick from the north coast around
six miles away or the southern shores about twelve miles from
Helland. Walk the coastal path, build sandcastles with the kids,
book a surfing lesson at Polzeath or sample seafood in
Padstow. And don't forget Port Isaac, a lovely old
village that's home to sea shanty singers 'The
Fishermen's Friends' - they perform most Fridays in
summer.
Explore the house and gardens of Pencarrow, with its woodland
walks, sunken Italian garden and Iron Age hill fort. Enjoy a romp
with the dog around the Lanhydrock Estate (allowed almost
everywhere bar the formal gardens). Or travel by steam on the
Bodmin & Wenford Railway - dogs can come along too.
Throw in salmon and trout fishing, wonderful wildlife, top-class
golf, not forgetting the Eden Project. In fact, something for
everyone when you opt for a holiday rental in Helland or Helland
Bridge!
