Perfect for… soaking up local culture, delighting in the local food and outdoor adventures
Abergavenny is a friendly market town located just South East of the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales. It is a great destination for walking, cycling and enjoying the beautiful Welsh countryside. There is a regular farmers’ market on the fourth Thursday of every month, which gathers together the very best, top-quality local produce. Keep the kids entertained at the indoor climbing centre, which is located in town, or soak up some culture in the Borough Theatre.
There is also a local town museum and just a short distance away is the stunning Raglan Castle. Built in the 15th century, the medieval landmark is available all-year-round for tours. The town is host to the famous Abergavenny Food Festival. As the largest food festival in the country, visitors flock from all over to witness the popular food demonstrations, workshops and local produce which is available to purchase.
