Travel to County Mayo by road
When travelling to County Mayo from the North of England by road, take the A64 heading West, then the M62, the M56, and finally the North Wales Expressway to the A55 in Holyhead. Once in Holyhead, take the UK-Dublin ferry. After docking, take the M50, and later the M4 and N4 in Westmeath. Continue on the N4 to arrive in County Mayo.

Travel to County Mayo by train
Trains run to Ballyhaunis, County Mayo regularly from Dublin Heuston Station, which can be reached via the aforementioned ferry from Holyhead. Though many trains are direct, some travellers may have to make a change at Athlone, County Westmeath. The entire journey takes between two hours 15 minutes and two hours 30 minutes and can be very scenic in places.
