Travel to County Waterford by road

If you’re travelling to County Waterford by car from Central, North West or Northern Ireland, then you will need to take the M9 from Dublin to the city of Waterford, the gateway to this beautiful southern county. Drive time from Dublin is two and a half hours.

Travel to County Waterford by train or coach

Travelling by either train and coach is a pleasant way to reach County Waterford, usually arriving at the city of Waterford itself, the biggest transport hub in the county. Coaches depart Dublin’s Busarus and take two and a half hours to reach Waterford Bus Station. Direct trains from Dublin take just over two hours. From Limerick direct trains take just under two hours.

Travel to County Waterford by plane or ferry

Those arriving from the UK can fly directly to Waterford Airport from Luton, Manchester and Birmingham. Passenger and car ferries from Holyhead in Wales to Dublin are a very popular way to travel from the UK to Ireland.
