Travelling to the Isle of Wight by ferry

There are 200 ferry crossings from the mainland each day from Southampton, Portsmouth and Lymington. Services into Ryde and Cowes only take foot passengers, while those wanting to cross with a vehicle must use East Cowes, Fishbourne or Yarmouth.

Travelling to the Isle of Wight by road

The two most easily accessible departure points for ferries are Southampton and Portsmouth. Portsmouth is reached from London via the A3, while Southampton is at the southern end of the M3 from London. Anyone travelling from the North should use the A34 and the M3 to Southampton.

Travelling to the Isle of Wight by plane

There are no commercial flights into the Isle of Wight, although private planes can land at either Bembridge or Sandown Airports. Bournemouth and Southampton are the nearest airports on the mainland.
