Captain Cooks House
Captain Cooks House

Spend an afternoon exploring this 17th century property, which rests on Whitby’s harbour side where in 1746 James Cook arrived to begin his apprenticeship as a seaman.

As you explore the museum you will learn about Cook’s achievements as well as letters written by Cook and objects which he discovered on strange lands.
