Dalemain House and Historic Gardens
This fascinating mansion sits on the site of a Saxon settlement and has parts dating back to the 14th century. A Georgian frontage was later added, with thorough modernisation taking place in the 1920s.
You can book a specialist tour featuring a viewing of the house including parts not usually open to the public, a garden tour and visit to Dacre church.
The grounds feature a timeline of apple trees, sheltered wood, a terrace garden, a children’s garden, and much more.
After a wander through the house and grounds, why not head to the Great Barn Tearoom? You can enjoy hot and cold homemade food, speciality coffees, freshly baked scones and ginger cake made with Dalemain marmalade. The marmalade is also available to buy onsite.
