Directions

  1. From the Bowden Bridge Car Park turn left and walk up Kinder Road beside the River Kinder. Upon reaching two gates, continue through wooden gate and follow up the path.
  2. Continue to see Kinder Reservoir to your right. Follow the path through the gate and then bear left, following alongside the stone wall. Continue along the path to reach William Clough.
  3. Ascend William Clough next to the small signpost (ignoring the bridge). Follow the route uphill, continuing up the route of your preference before reaching a set of steps. Take the steps up and take the right path once at the top. Continue along the main footpath, passing the cairn and winding round the edge.
  4. Follow the path turning right to reach Kinder Downfall. Cross over the water via the stepping stones.
  5. At Kinder Downfall, follow the west side of Kinder Plateau. After 1.2 miles bear left and follow the path to reach the trig Kinder Low.
  6. From here, follow the footpath south past the cairn to reach Edale Rocks. Continue along the path, past a second cairn, and leave the main footpath to join the path on the right heading uphill over Swine’s Beck.
  7. From Swine’s Beck follow the edge taking you down the other side. Descend towards the wall and pass through the gate onto the bridleway.
  8. Turn right on the bridleway and follow the wider bridleway track down. Continue with the trees on your left to reach a cattlegrid. Pass through the gate and at the road turn left.
  9. Follow the road to River Kinder, the turn left with the river on your right. Make your way towards the caravan park turning right just before you reach it to bring you back to the car park.
