Note: Please be aware that the last summit is too steep for both wheelchairs and prams.

Directions

  1. Begin at Windermere train station and cross over onto the opposite side of the A591. The walk begins behind the green railings by the pedestrian crossing.
  2. Follow the lane signposted for Orrest Head (also stating you are 784 feet above sea level).
  3. Continue along the lane and bare left on the three possible routes. Follow the route uphill before reaching the farm.
  1. Once you are past the farm, follow the route on the right out of the three possible paths here.
  2. Continue up the path before making a right at the top into a fenced lane.
  3. Proceed along the lane past some benches until you reach a kissing gate on the left.
  4. Pass through the kissing gate before reaching the steps up to the summit. Here you will just equally impressive views of the surrounding countryside.
