Sandown Beach
The sloping sands of Sandown Beach offer a perfect spot to lay back and soak up the rays, with the golden beach stretching right across the face of this popular resort.
If you’re coming with the family, you’ll be pleased to find plenty to do here! Why not try your hand at lazy golf or venture to the traditional pier with its arcades and fairground rides?
Additionally, you can hire windbreaks, deckchairs and sun loungers, making unwinding on the soft sands an easy task. Alternatively, if you want to enjoy an exhilarating beach outing, be sure to go surfing or jet-skiing amidst the turquoise waters.
As well as offering plenty to do and enjoy, Sandown Beach prides itself on its accessibility. You can easily reach the beach by riding the Island Line train or by parking to the west of Sandown Beach Pier.
Dogs are also allowed on the beach, but this is only between October-April. Registered assistance dogs, however, are allowed on the beach throughout the year.
After enjoying what the Blue Flag beach has to offer, be sure to explore the esplanade, where a selection of cafes offer homemade delights, including the renowned, local cheesecake.
