The Windermere Lake Cruises operate the full length of Windermere, measuring an impressive 10.5 miles. The team offer boat services every day and start journeys from Bowness, Ambleside or Lakeside.
You can choose to enjoy a return cruise between Bowness and Waterhead, which takes 1.25 hours or the return cruise between Bowness and Lakeside takes about 1.5 hours. Alternatively, there is the 3 hours return cruise around the whole lake, where you can admire the surrounding mountains, bays and wooded islands.
In addition to the Windermere Lake Cruises, the Windermere team also offer self-drive boat hire. This gives you the option to explore the lake at your own pace, with options for up to two hours of driving. These boats can be hired from Bowness or Ambleside.
