  • "I stayed at The Foxes Den from 27th to 30th August , just myself and two dogs- and had such a lovely time."

    From the moment we arrived, it felt like a real home from home. Everything had been thought of, and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into making guests feel comfortable. Parking is free in the village and only a few minutes walk away. The cottage was lovely cosy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We were especially impressed that even the dogs had been considered, with thoughtful touches provided for them too. It made them feel just as welcome as I was. The bedroom was fabulous- lovely and big and the bed super comfortable!! The location was fantastic, with plenty of lovely walks right on the doorstep. We spent lots of time out walking and exploring the area, then coming back to the comfort of the cottage to relax. The weather was lovely on a couple of the evenings so I sat in the kitchen with the door open watching the bats- what a delight! The little courtyard was great for the dogs. The host was brilliant throughout, always quick to respond and happy to answer any questions I had. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I honestly couldn't fault a thing. It was one of those places where you instantly feel at home, and I was sad to leave. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway and would love to return in the future!

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Foxes Den and the surrounding area."

    The Foxes Den was stylish, cosy and comfortable. It was clean, well equipped and everything was easy to use. The owners were friendly and helpful when contacted. The area has enough to keep you busy for a few days. We went to Foxfield steam railway just a few minutes drive away, Cheadle to see Pugins gem, the Ramblers retreat- a lovely cafe in Dimmingsdale. The people in Tean were welcoming and the car park next to the White Hart was a bonus, only a few minutes walk away. Tean itself is charming and there are lots of dog walks very near to the cottage. The outside patio was a nice little area and as it was sunny we used it a lot. One tiny thing, personally we thought it could be made prettier with a few more plants etc We have already recommended the Foxes Den to others and will return one day for sure

  • "Foxes Den was perfect for a short stay with a dog- even had a dog bed."

    There was a great space for a walk just up the lane from the property. The cottage is very comfortable and homely; the courtyard could do with a tidy up as it is the first thing you see. The owners communication was excellent and friendly. I would stay here again .

  • "No vacuum, no potatoe peeler, no roasting or cassrol dishes very limited utensils really in the main but saurced from neighbour (Debbie a delight) & she said we could leave in the property."

    Cleanliness the bathroom floor u could clearly c this had not been cleaned for a while I did write please clean me. Bedroom window hard to close as broken. Garden well not sure what to say seriously needs a lot of work not fit for my dog even, I seriously wouldnt contemplate have an alfresco event outside would rather have fish & chips & sit on co op wall. Owners very pleasant & brought down clean linen as we stayed an extra week, he was very friendly but feel property requires alot attention for the money u r renting for this property.

We are on hand to help with anything during your stay and you didn’t make us aware you needed the things you said were missing, had you done so, we would have gladly popped these round to you straight away. I note that you chose to book and extra week at the property. On changeover, the accommodation needed extra cleaning and smelt of smoke which isn’t permitted inside the property. Whilst we welcome pets, we weren’t aware that you were bringing one with you. We have been unable to find our customer guest book which contains glowing reviews since our holiday letting started at The Foxes Den Once again, thank you for your comments Property Owner

  • "A cute cottage with ample space for 2 people."

    Wonderful welcome hamper on arrival. Owner is very helpful and responds very quickly to questions. We appreciated the change of linens etc for our longer stay. Quite location but close to all amenities.

  • "Lovely home from home had everything we needed and some very nice touches."

    Everything was very clean and good quality especially the bed it was so comfy. It is in a lovely little village with very friendly locals, both of the pubs were very welcoming to us and our German Shepherd. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.   • "Lovely comfortable cottage."

    Peaceful and quiet. Owners couldn't do enough to make stay as pleasant as possibe. Enjoyed morning ramble with dog across heath (super 360" views) opposite cottage. Only downside was no parking at property but always a spot couple minutes walk away. Situation and cottage made up for this. We were visiting family in the area but a superb base to explore the countryside and potteries.

  • "Brilliant stay, just a couple of things, not enough utensils in the kitchen and the draining board and sink were a little dirty on arrival."

    Hello Thank you for your comments, I hope you enjoyed your stay, if you could let me know what utensils are missing we will look at getting these into the property, we thought we had all the basics covered so apologies. We are aware that the sink in the property is a little dated and this will be replaced in the future, there are a couple of limescale stains that have had everything thrown at them but we cannot get them off, I can assure you though that the sink and drainers are thoroughly cleaned before every new guest arrives. Tean is a large village in Staffordshire, England, south-east of Stoke-on-Trent. The River Tean runs through the village, heading east towards Uttoxeter. The village is itself composed of two villages: Upper Tean (the larger of the two) and Lower Tean, forming part of the Checkley ward within the Staffordshire Moorlands district. The surrounding area is predominantly farming / rural, and it is a short drive into the southern edge of the Peak District. There are a number of pubs and shops, nurseries, a village hall, three churches, and a small park. Further afield lies Stoke on Trent; the city boasts many visitor centres, award winning museums, authentic factory tours, over 25 pottery factory shops and the exclusive Staffordshire Hoard. Visit the Trentham Estate with Italian Gardens, Shopping Village, Monkey Forest, and mile long lake.
