Ferries Between the UK and Ireland

Sykes cottages work in partnership with Stena Line and Irish Ferries. We recommend that you book your ferry crossing with your cottage, as in almost all cases it is much cheaper than booking them separately. Cottage and ferry inclusive prices start from just £299 per week.

Booking your ferry crossing couldn’t be easier. Once you’ve found your perfect cottage our expert Advisors will help you choose the best route and find you a great deal. They will be able to tell you how long it will take to drive from your home to the nearest ferry port, how long the crossing will take and advise on an arrival time at your cottage. Just give us a call; our Advisors really are the experts.

Take a look at the map above and you’ll see that there are three main ferry routes to choose from...

  1. Holyhead in North Wales to Dublin
  2. Fishguard or Pembroke in South Wales to Rosslare
  3. Cairnryan in Dumfries & Galloway to Belfast

There are two types of ferry. A fast one, which will usually take around two hours to make the crossing, and a standard ferry, which will take between three and four hours.

The ferry is where your holiday really starts. You can grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants or bars, stroll along the deck for some fresh sea air or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the journey. There’s plenty to keep the kids amused too!
