The village of Tissington in the Derbyshire Dales is a picture-perfect location, ideal for experiencing the delights of this stunning part of the world on a cottage holiday to remember.

Centring around the 17th century splendour of Tissington Hall, the village lies amid the rolling dales, woodlands, and meadows of the White Peak, an area of the Peak District renowned for its rich limestone landscapes and abundance of wildlife. Walkers and cyclists are drawn here by the Tissington Trail and Limestone Way, long-distance paths that cut through the village and wind through the beautiful surrounding countryside. Tissington is most famous for its charmingly quirky custom of 'well dressing'. Each year, on Ascension Sunday, six water wells in the village are decorated with thousands of flower petals pressed into clay, which strikingly depict biblical scenes. Dating back to the time of the Black Death, tens of thousands of visitors now visit each year to view this colourful spectacle.
