Good facilities in the house, especially each bedroom having it’s own bathroom (although a few extra hairdryers would be useful!). The only thing lacking is a separate dining room - there’s not one big dining table seating 12 and it gets cramped in the kitchen when everyone’s seated and people are serving and clearing up. But overall we had a great stay. Reviewed by PamelaJun 2022 "An excellent place to stay ." Arran & John really welcomed us and gave us some great information about walks , places to eat etc. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants a fantastic house to stay in and in a great location Reviewed by RodMay 2022 "Great location." Lovely welcome pack and touches in the property. Well stocked kitchen plates glasses etc. The weather was very kind to us so we had some lovely walks directly from the cottage with ospreys to watch on the way. Everyone was happy with their rooms and ensuites. All rooms are of good size so no one ended up in a boxroom that so often happens in some properties. Would come again. Reviewed by MildredMay 2022 "Arran and John left a lovely welcome pack including red and white wine and cereals there was everything you could need in the kitchen with washing up liquid, laundry capsules, and dishwasher tablets, all bath and shower rooms were immaculate and had toiletries provided, there were 6 of us each with our own bedroom we all slept really well and had a lovely view from each window, there was walks from the door and scenery was stunning, I had a punctured tyre John took the wheel off for me so I could take it to garage to get a replacement tyre and then put wheel back on for me, I would highly recommend this house." Reviewed by LeighApr 2022 "A very nice holiday cottage in an excellent location for keen walkers." Reviewed by BrianMar 2022 "The house was lovely and spacious, bigger than the pictures." The bed was a bit firmer than mine but still comfortable. High quality bedding, soft towels and nice pillows. Extra touches that you don’t get in some self catering properties, like loo paper, bubble bath, ear buds, cotton pads, dishwasher and washing machine tablets. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need to cook a meal with and added extras like a blender and scales. The garden was great, my Labrador was in his element Reviewed by RebeccaMar 2022 "Had a fantastic stay here, with plenty of room and very well equipped rooms." All of us agreed it was perfect for our needs. Owner was very friendly and helpful and there was plentiful supplies for all the little things you might forget (dishwasher and washing tablets, bin bags, toilet paper, etc...). Great walks nearby and great place to stay. Reviewed by HughFeb 2022 "Absolutely stunning property." Perfect for family gatherings. The owners were fantastic. A very well stocked kitchen with everything you could need to prepare meals for 12 people, including a triple slow cooker! The living room accommodated us perfectly and it had been decorated beautifully for Christmas. Lots of comfy seating and a great fire which we were able to have going every day as the owner kept us stocked up on logs and kindling! Great location for lovely walks and getting into Peebles. The owners were really friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome including providing us with a very generous welcome pack of goodies. We would 100% come here again. Thank you!! The welcome pack was much appreciated and our dog loved a good run in the paddock. Happy to highly recommend Torview House. Reviewed by AlisonNov 2021 "This is a beautiful cottage loads of space and done to a high standard." Enclosed large paddock for dogs. Beautiful countryside short drive to Peebles. Owners are lovely couldn’t be more helpful. They live adjoined to the other part of the cottage not a problem for us but maybe if wanted loud music playing. We will definitely be back. Cottage has everything u need but may need to take speaker for music. It’s sat right next to the river and the owners have made it a beautiful place to sit. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay can’t recommend enough Reviewed by KerryNov 2021 "Lovely accommodation." Great hosts. Rebooked for next year. Reviewed by StuartOct 2021 "Excellent accommodation." Lots of little extras which is much appreciated. Lovely owner. Reviewed by TraceyOct 2021 "Lovely accommodation for our family of 12." Good location. Extensively equipped kitchen and very comfortable beds. What more could you ask for? Reviewed by LizAug 2021 "This was a brilliant house, suitable for families or 6 couples as 4 en suite bedrooms, 2 more bedrooms a full bathroom and shower room + a separate WC." Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Only problem is that almost all of the cupboards are full of crockery and equipment with little room left to store your food. Otherwise it was great and the owners on site were helpful and friendly but easy to forget they are there as they did not interfere but there if needed. They even opened a completely enclosed paddock for us to let the dog have a run around. The weather could have been better but we can’t complain about anything else. It is laid out with the bedrooms set slightly apart from the living areas and all to a very high standard. The extensive size of the house allowed us to meet up with all the family in exceptional circumstances. The bedrooms were away from the living area so there was no disturbance in the evening. The grounds of the property were well kept and the secret river dell was great. Only 7 minutes by car to Peebles. Bats! The children enjoyed seeing bats from their bedroom window every night at dusk. The owners were excellent hosts. We will visit again. We came to do the mountain bike trials and were not disappointed. After travelling from Manchester to Fort William and then to Skye we stayed here for three days on our way home. The host kept in touch with us prior to arrival via email and greeted us on arrival. They went out of their way to arrange for us to have jet wash available to clean our bikes when we returned from a days riding. The property is stunning in a beautiful area. We will definitely be returning. Thank you very much we really enjoyed our stay.
