  • "Midsummer Cottage is in a great location, it’s so close to the centre of town, it’s a few minutes’ walk to the river, the RSC and there’s lots of bars and restaurants close by."

Alan, our host, was excellent, he organised the parking permit for us and his communication was great. The cottage itself is very comfortable, it has everything we needed for a weekend break. We’d highly recommend it.

  • "There was ample space for three adults."

The amenities were nice, and we appreciate and enjoy that the owners left for us as guests. The kitchen is well-equipped, and we were able to prepare several meals for dine-in. The location in Stratford-Upon-Avon is top notch. A short walk of a couple blocks took us in the city centre or train station. We did not regret being car-less. There is a mustiness in the downstairs family room, so allergy sufferers should be prepared. (I wore a mask). It was warm that week without fans, and traffic and neighbor noise during the evenings can be distracting. Overall, though, most tourists will enjoy their experience here, and we recommend this property with just a few cautions.

Many thanks for your feedback. Midsummer Cottage is a mid 1800's terrace in the middle of town. A level of traffic and neighbourhood noise is to be expected but we are sorry that you found this distracting. We do provide a floor standing fan and it is quite safe to open windows and doors during the day. We always offer our ongoing support throughout our guests stay and encourage guests to contact us so that we can assist with issues wherever possible. Property Owner

It was very close to the town centre so perfect for us - we parked the car and never used it again until we left! There was a problem with the shower which the owner immediately sorted for us. The cottage would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as the stairs are steep, and no good for small children as there is no bathtub. But it was very warm and comfortable.

It was very well located, and with parking, which is a must in Stratford-upon-Avon. It was a very quick and easy walk into the town centre, with everything that you might need on the doorstep. Thank you to the owners for the welcome gifts and for supplying essentials such as salt, pepper, washing up liquid etc. these were very much appreciated. However, the beds were very uncomfortable. Sadly, we all found it very difficult to sleep because of them and ended up quite grumpy as a result. Such a shame, as it was the only thing that let the property down.

We are really sorry that you found the beds uncomfortable, we do not usually get this feedback. In fact previous guest feedback stated 'Cottage clean and beds comfortable - would recommend for location and comfort'. We will investigate further. Property Owner

We only used the car once. It was so lovely to just saunter into the town whenever we felt like it. The property was spotless including the toilets/bathroom, something that is very high up my list of priorities. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere cleaner. For a small property it is very well equipped. It would be nice to have had another couple of chopping boards and a big serving spoon in the kitchen, but really that was all I noticed and most people probably eat out more than us anyway. All the utensils, cutlery, crockery was clean and seemingly new (I loved the mugs!). It's a compact property but it's been done with thought and taste. I'd definitely stay there again if I were visiting Stratford upon Avon again.
