  • "We had a lovely holiday at Birchcroft and loved the view from the beautiful garden."

The facilities for our disabled daughter were invaluable, especially the electric bed and wet room. We hope to be back for our next holiday.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Birchcroft Hideaway, its situation is perfect, we had some lovely walks, enjoyed the gardens, walking to the pub (which was excellent) and easy access to the gorgeous beaches at Bournemouth (if you get up and leave early enough to avoid queuing in the traffic!"

!). The playhouse is such a welcome addition if you have children with you. However, there is a big 'but', the sofas in the living room are no longer fit for purpose and need to be replaced, they are so worn that we actually moved the two seater wicker sofa from the conservatory to the living room, however, this created another problem as when the sofa was moved in the living room, the dirt and debris in the sofa fell onto the floor and underneath the sofa was a lot of rubbish, dirt and drink stains. There had definitely been no cleaning between the sofa cushions in a while as we found tissues, shells, pencils and my granddaughter found a large chunk of cheese under the floral electric chair in the living room, not ideal for a toddler. I actually got the mop out and cleaned the kitchen, dining room and the mess on the living room floor and advised the agent that I had used the single floor wipe that was there. Thankfully we had taken plenty of antibac and kitchen towel. I was surprised to read the instructions for the hot tub, where it said that you didn't need to do anything on your first use, as when we looked there were no testing strips in either pkt so we had no idea whether it could be used or not, a new supply was provided on the Thursday. however, it would be useful if whoever did the check prior to us arriving had supplied a new pkt, they would have realised they had used the last one. The plumber did attend to fix the leak in the main bathroom, so a new shower seal should be fitted. We were unable to close the velux window in the double bedroom upstairs as there is no handle at the bottom to pull on (like there is in the twin room next door). Birchcroft is a fabulous home but it is in need of a really good clean and some TLC.

We are glad you enjoyed your holiday at Birchcroft and have taken on onboard your comments. The house has just been closed for two weeks for a complete redecorate and maintenance period, its looking fab and the decor has been updated. The new sofas have arrived and are very comfy! All the cleaning comments have been strongly raised with the cleaning company. Along with a full refurb of the lounge and new larger TV, the house has been bought up to date, while keeping the woodland hideaway vibe. Having completed our 1st season with Sykes we have taken onboard customer feedback, good and bad, Birchcroft is now on top form, and the garden has its beautiful autumn colours. Its a wonderfully peaceful place and we look forward to welcoming guests again. Property Owner

  • "The location of the property is great, close enough to travel to Poole and Bournemouth."

The grounds are beautiful, set in a lovely garden, lots of trees and really private. The outside playhouse was brilliant for our 3 year old. Hot tub was a nice treat too. It was such a shame that the cleanliness was not up to scratch. Dirty plates in the cupboard and cobwebs absolutely everywhere. The hot water is extremely hot, to the point where it could have easily scolded our little boy.

Hello We are really pleased you enjoyed your stay and the location/ grounds at Birchcroft. Its a great time of year for the garden! The Hot tub is always popular and the playhouse is a big hit. We are so sorry you had an issue with the hot water, had we been made aware during your stay we would have resolved it straight away. It has now been resolved, one of our guests had turned up the hot water temperature thermostat very high. So sorry you had a problem but we simply didn't know this had happened. We are sorry you felt the cleaning wasn't up to the standard expected, we have very much taken this feedback on board and have raised the issue for action with the cleaning company. So sorry you had an issue with this. Birchcroft is a very special woodland hideaway and we do hope you visit with us again Property Owner

I would recommend this place and will definitely return in the future. Thank you

  • "We had a lovely relaxing stay."

The hot tub is a lovely feature. So nice to sit and relax in the garden watching the birds and squirrels etc. Great location and lovely place to stay the only thing we could recommend to make it even more comfortable is if the living room furniture could do with updating as the sofas sink down too low.

  • "Was a great stay we really enjoyed, but the location would be even better in summer."

We enjoyed the hot tub just a small suggestion, it would be great if there is a small space to change outside so we don't have to walk in to the house with wet clothes. Overall we really enjoyed it. Thanks to the owner for letting it out last minute as our booking got cancelled last minute.

Thanks for your feedback and we are very glad your enjoyed you stay with us. Hope to see you again. Property Owner
