  • "The decor, rooms, bathroom and location is great."

The building feels as though it has been recently renovated to a good standard. However, it feels unloved and therefore the little things are not right. The door to the apartment sticks and requires a good push to open or close with a bang. The cleaning does not seem to include removing the sofa seats and giving a quick hoover. The cooking pans have been burnt and not replaced. Little things but frustrating. So in conclusion we had a lovely holiday but left thinking it's not an apartment we would think of returning.

  • "Great location, lovely flat in a central position."

However, there are some areas for improvement in our opinion - It was disappointing that there was only a settee suitable for 3 adults available when it was a 4 adults booking , meaning one always had to sit uncomfortably on a dining chair. There is plenty of room for a further comfortable chair. The 2 single beds were uncomfortable with springs poking through and digging into your back when trying to sleep. The two headboards were not attached to the bed or the wall meaning they banged loudly every time you moved to try and get comfortable. The kitchen was well fitted with good quality appliances, however it was a pity that there were no instructions for using the cooker or hob or the hot water boiler. The crockery was clean but felt very cheap and nasty. Strangely the cutlery was of good quality. The bathroom was clean and well fitted, however there was a constant smell of cabbages / blocked drains unless the extractor and bathroom light were left on. This wasn’t pleasant . The accommodation was well decorated and clean , however, the ground floor entrance hall where the washing machine and tumble dryer were located were untidy with piles of dirty laundry dumped for the duration of our stay. It was disappointing that there were no cleaning materials ( wipes, cloths and kitchen towels) available along with a few more provisions over and above a few sachets of coffee / tea and some milk. Some small shampoo and shower provisions would have been useful too. Swanage was a lovely location and the flat was well located to take advantage of its position. It would have been helpful to have a comprehensive welcome pack with detailed information about the flat and what to do in the area - something other accommodation providers in Swanage provide to assist the visitor. Having said the above a great stay - thank you .

Parking ok up the hill. I would recommend investing in a corner sofa as tight squeeze for 4 on1 sofa

  • "We loved our stay at the Purbeck Hotel Apartments well appointed for the the beach and shops, but obviously with that comes a bit of noise from surrounding bars but on a whole the noise had stopped by 11pm this was midweek though as our stay was Monday to Friday the inside of the Appointment had been newly painted and was as you would expect spotless with an up-to-date kitchen and wet room bathroom the bedrooms was clean and tidy but the mattresses on the main bed and one of the singes are in need of desperate replacement old and no support at all as was the internet don't expect to be able to steam on the smart TV it's just not strong enough so we stuck to terrestrial TV with was fine."

Free parking is as you would expect hard to find but we were lucky and found a parking space every time on street at the back of the Apartments the road is very steep though there is a long stay carpark not far away near a lovely park with wonderful views of the bay, overall this area is so beautiful and the apartments were more than adequate for our needs.

  • "Excellent property, beautifully renovated and looks amazing, everything you need is there."

The location is just where you would want to be. Only criticism would be the mattress’s, these could do with an upgrade but they are usable. Overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely return.

  • "Overall very good."

Just a few small touches would make it spot on. 2nd set of keys. Other changes mainly in living room. An additional chair to settee would be great. Also a table lamp/standing lamp so you don’t need to have big lights on. Otherwise all good and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

  • "Absolutely perfect stay in Swanage."

Great communication from the owner, with clear access information and the place was perfect - in a great location right in the middle of town next to the beach, and it was immaculately clean and comfortable. We had a great weekend - Thank you so much!

  • "We had a great 4 nights in Flat 4 and the owner Lewis couldn't have been more helpful."

As soon as I mentioned something was needed it was provided immediately. Everything was new and sparkly as well as being comfy and warm. Could do with an extra armchair in the lounge as only sofa for 3 and a hairdryer in the flat would be useful as well as a mirror in the main bedroom near the socket. Would definitely stay there again as great location in the town.

About the location

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
