"Wonderful cottage , Wonderful location so much to see and explore."
We will book again to continue exploring this beautiful part of Scotland.
-
"A lovely cosy cottage, we felt welcomed by the “especially for you“ treat."
Great place to stay, a great view from the kitchen window, we often had our morning tea on the porch . Enough leaflets about places of interest , books to read, many great places to go to. We have enjoyed our stay a lot, the weather was pretty good, so that an encounter with a billion of midges was limited to the first night! Just a little hint to the owner: a pair of new kitchen pans would be great. Altogether highly recommended!

"Well maintained and comfortable property with all the facilities one would require to have a totally hassle free holiday."
Location is first class with beautiful views all round. Excellent walks available straight from the door step. The whole holiday experience was warm and welcoming.
-
"The cottage is in a superb location just a couple of hundred metres from the shore of Loch Kanaird, with a pleasant walk around the bay available from the front door."
To be honest I don’t think the photos or description on the listing do justice to this wonderful setting. The cottage was warm (we visited in January) for our arrival and proved a comfy base for our explorations of this stunning area. The drying room was so handy, the kitchen spacious and the lounge cosy, with the fire roaring in the evening. We were supplied with plenty of firewood. Our only quibbles would be the lack of decent chef’s knives in the kitchen and the quirky TV, but these were minor setbacks. We’ll be back, I’m sure.

"Lovely cosy cottage."
Could be helpful to add reflectors on the entrance posts to aid finding the entrance at night!
-
"Lovely comfortable and cosy cottage."
Would definitely recommend to friends. We would have no problems staying here again.
-
"Absolutely recommend this lovely cottage to anyone visiting the West Coast of Scotland."
The cottage itself is stunning, cosy and very well equipped. Every morning we went for a walk as the sun rose. Spectacular views and then to see and hear the deer at our doorstep. *Goosebumps. The location is perfect for exploring, we visited Durness, Scourie, Lochinver, Old man of Stoer, Gairloch all very accessible from here.
-
"We enjoyed our week at the Fisherman’s Cottage."
The accommodation was old fashioned but nice and cosy, with comfy beds. The decoration was reasonable with the exception of the shower cubicle which had mould stained sealant and wasn’t hygienic. Needs sorting out quickly. There were lovely views from the kitchen window but agree with a previous comment it would be nice if the windows were cleaned. Great walks around the estate and good location for NC500

"Had a lovely holiday."
The setting was idyllic and we enjoyed the whole holiday very much. We couldn't fault the cottage which was well equipped and comfortable.
-
"This is the third time that I have stayed here, as it is so good."
-
"The cottage was in a nice position, well equipped and clean but the interior was rather ‘tired’ eg."
Curtains hanging off a bent rail which I fixed as best I could. There was no hairdryer but this was quickly fixed by the housekeeper. The reason for my low score is the smell of oil in the cottage which originated from a leaking pipe between the tank and the boiler which I identified when trying to discover where the smell was coming from. The estate staff and housekeeper responded quickly and stopped the leak but the smell persisted as the oil had soaked into the ground around and below the cottage. This resulted in me experiencing severe headaches on several days. Luckily it was not quite as strong in the bedroom and I was out all day on an art course. I would not have continued to stay if there had been any other accommodation available in Ullapool.

"A first class cottage and well equipped with comfortable furnishings and beds."
A great location for all the tourist amenities. Its the sign of a great cottage when you want to go back to it again

"Excellent cottage, beautiful location."
-
"A nice cottage on a lovely position."
We will stay again.

"Good location and generally a nice property but quite a few niggles."
I sent a text to get the entry code and said that there would be 3 rather than 2 of us - no reply. I had to phone and the owner seemed surprised to hear from me. Then there were only 2 sets of towels. We had mice in the kitchen and had to get Rentokil out. The shower temperature ranged from very hot to scalding, plumber was called but didn't come. Loo seats slipped off to the side continuously. Standard of decoration and fittings very mixed. Dishwasher poor quality, often had to re-wash things by hand, oven had to be turned up higher as it didn't get to stated temperature. Compared with other properties that I have stayed in at similar prices, this one didn't quite come up to scratch. I was very surprised at the glowing reports in the visitor book. I wouldn't stay there again.

"It's a very nice cottage in a lovely location although it is near a fast road and there is some traffic noise."
The cottage is very comfortable, has luxurious bedding, high quality sofas, a well equiped kitchen and a great shower. We thought the drying room was particularly efficient. Facilities are excellent though we were disappointed a toilet seat we reported on day 1 as unusable couldn't be fixed till we had vacated the premises. There are lovely views, windows need to be clean to enjoy them.
-
"Really liked the cottage only thing I would change is having a double bed."
-
"A lovely cottage, warm, cozy and well equipped."
Wonderful views from the large kitchen window where you can see the sun set across the hills and Loch. The cottage sits on its own just north of Ullapool, which is a 10 minute drive away and has plenty of places to eat as well as a large supermarket. A great location to tour the north west Scotland and the amazing countryside, especially if you love a bit of geology. Would highly recommend.
-
"Comfortable, well equipped spacious cottage in a stunning location."
Highly recommended!
-
"Splendid view and very comfortable."
Was let down by the following: We could not get the shower cubicle down to a comfortable temperature. There was no bread bin. The toilet paper was awful. The drying cupboard was good but could be improved by having more strings across it to hook onto the hooks opposite. There were no manuals for the washing machine or the dishwasher.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we are glad you enjoyed our beautiful home. The shower in the property has been checked and no faults were reported, the temperature control gauge is working correctly. The toilet paper we use is a luxury brand, and we have not received any adverse comments about this before, guests are welcome to supply their own. We are very lucky to have a drying room in the property and this is equipped with wall hooks and a bar for drying clothing. On arrival guests are greeted with a welcome pack with lots of treats, and a letter with contact numbers, on here it states where the appliance instruction manuals can be found in the property. If any of our guests have any issues we would always ask that they contact one of the numbers provided, we will be happy to assist. Property Owner

"As we had stayed here before, we knew what to expect and were not disappointed."
-
"Fantastic location, not isolated and within easy each of Ullapool."
Even had a Golden Eagle visit which we watched for several minutes from the kitchen window.
-
"Peaceful location near the sea yet close to Ullapool."
Dark sky opportunity to view the milky way.
-
"The cottage was beautifully decorated in keeping with it's serene location."
We loved the luxurious soft furnishings; the fabulously thick curtains, towels and bathmats, the down filled duvets and the matresses were the most comfortable of any place we have stayed. Even the crockery toned with the beautiful duck egg blue decor, and everything smelled nice! The walks, wildlife and scenery literally right on the doorstep were also a joy. All of this exceeded our expectations and considerably enhanced our enjoyment and we are already planing a return visit.

"Familie mit 3 Kindern, Frühjahr."
Absolut hübsches, saubereres und gepflegtes Cottage mit einem raumhaften Ausblick aufs Meer und regelmäßigen Rotwildbesuchen am Cottage. Die Schlüsselübergabe lief dank einer Schlüsselbox problemlos, im Haus war alles vorhanden was wir brauchten und die Heizung (inkl. Trockenraum) hat uns positiv überrascht. WLAN vorhanden. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

"The five of us were all delighted with our accommodation."
The house is in a beautiful location, with marvellous views and no polluting noise. I woke up the first morning to see 3 stags playing in front of the kitchen window! They were having a mock fight and chasing each other, and with the sunrise glistening on the sea behind them, the scene was breathtaking. The house is well equipped and beautifully warm. The beds are extremely comfortable and cosy, the showers work well and there is a drying cupboard which is extremely effective. All the white goods are new and the house is pleasantly decorated giving a warm and cosy ambience. We met the estate manager one evening while we were on a walk from the house to the sea loch. Even though he was fishing he came ashore and told us many things about the wildlife and ecology of the area. He was most informative and friendly and passionate about the area and the wildlife. He also said he could arrange for any guests to go boating, fishing and a number of other activities. We hope to be coming back and participating in some of these. All in all it was a very enjoyable and memorable week, heightened by the accommodation.

"We came back home rested and refreshed after a week away."
Cosy and warm cottage with view on the bay. Good taste overall, comfortable beds, warm bathroom and shower room. Lovely place!
-
"Nice cosy and comfortable cottage, well-equipped and in an ideal location."
The only point I would make is that although we specified WiFi in our original property search, there was no information regarding this either in your description or in the notes supplied at the cottage. This is an important feature for most people nowadays so I think some info should be given. Consequently we were unsure until we actually arrived that the cottage did indeed have WiFi! Other than that, perfect..

"Great cottage to stay in."
Very comfortable and well furnished cottage in a quiet and peaceful location six miles of Ullapool, which had a good Tesco supermarket for provisions, a petrol station and a fairly good selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Would rally recommend The Ceilidh Place to eat; it has great food at reasonable prices and a lovely atmosphere and charming staff giving good service. The cottage offers rest and comfort- but a double bed would give it very top rating- and wonderful views across the loch. It’s location also offers easy access to the NW Highlands, with wonderful drives and walks in what must be some of the best scenery in the world, most of which I have travelled. Cottage has two bathrooms/ toilets and an additional shower room, all well furnished. The kitchen diner gives wonderful views and sunstets and going in mid June to mid July offers daylight from just after 0400 till after 2300. Really recommend this cottage as a place to stay. "The joy of coming back from a very wet walk on the hills to a beautiful warm and comfortable cottage."
Brilliant bath to soak our aching limbs. Beds were very comfortable and general decor delightful.
-
"Excellent location for exploring Wester Ross ,Sutherland and surounding area, The cottage itself lays just off the shore of Loch Kanard where my wife and i watched a beautiful sunset every day through the huge kitchen window whilst eating our dinner ,more romantic than any candlelit dinner."
-
"Everything went very smoothly."
All instructions clear and concise
-
"A gorgeous cottage with 5 star facilities."
The location was out of this world and offers peace and tranquility in bucket loads.
-
"We really enjoyed our time up in the fishermans cottasge over a very windy Christmas break ."
Many thanks
-
"Very quiet location."
Good of owners to provide a torch. You certainly need to use it at night.
-
"Very cosy cottage ."
.. fire set to use first night which is a nice touch. Beautiful views and remote as decribed in brochure. Excellent equipment.
-
"It was the perfect 'get away from it all' retreat which is what we expected to find from the online description."
The lack of Wi-Fi facilities and mobile phone signal may be a problem for some but for us it was lovely! PEACE! Prior to booking, I asked if there was a hair drier at the property and was advised that there was so we didn't take one. We couldn't find one and when the owner came to see if all was OK, she said that she would bring one down to us but unfortunately it never materialised - a minor problem. The standard of Fisherman's cottage was first class with nice finishing touches and it was a delight to sit in front of an open fire in the evenings. It was lovely to be able to walk along by the river and to see the stag with his 'harem'. The view from the kitchen window provided some beautiful sunsets.
-
"We enjoyed our time at the cottage and location enormously."
I would thoroughly recommend this facility to anyone wanting to ' soak up ' the true highland atmosphere. The cottage has quite recently been made available and if the standard of cleanliness etc is maintained, then this is a real gem.
-
"Cottage had wonderful view of Loch Broom through a picture window int he kitchen/diner - this should be advertised."
-
"Blessed with fabulous weather but if we had been kept in doors by rain the cottage would have been a super place to be - the cards and board games were a really nice touch and Debbie was also great checking all was ok and giving tips on what to do and where to go."
Top marks

This smart detached cottage is situated on a private, family-owned estate, set amongst the dramatic scenery of the Northwest Highlands.
Fisherman's Cottage is ideal for a family group, or group of friends who want to experience the peace and beauty of this most desirable part of Scotland.
The interior of the cottage is tastefully presented and offers quality comfort for guests.
There are three bedrooms, all with single beds providing lots of flexibility along with two bathrooms.
The cosy wood-lined sitting room with welcoming open fire allows for views to the sea and surrounding countryside and is a perfect place to relax after an energetic day.
The heart of the cottage is the modern and well-equipped kitchen/dining room where guests can gather to chat, cook and enjoy meals together around the table.
Just a few minutesÂ’ walk from the cottage takes you to the waterÂ’s edge where there are breathtaking views of the Summer Isles and here you can pick up The Postman's Path, a famous walk which follows the coast all the way to Achiltibuie.
This is indeed your own little piece of Highland heaven and yet the vibrant village of Ullapool is just 10 minutes away where you can board a ferry to the Outer Hebrides should you fancy a spectacular sea journey across The Minch.
For fishermen then a holiday on the estate ticks all the boxes as salmon and trout fishing can be organised by prior arrangement.
As you would expect the area is rich in wildlife and leaving home without your camera would be a mistake.
Why not travel northwards and explore the wonderful empty unspoilt countryside with amazing beaches and views?
A magical holiday awaits and this smart homely cottage will meet all your expectations.

About the location
ULLAPOOL
Inverness 57 miles.
Ullapool, nestling on the shores of Loch Broom and overlooking the Summer Isles, is the largest settlement in Wester Ross. This picturesque town was designed in the 18th Century by Thomas Telford and boasts delightful, whitewashed buildings and is also the main terminus for the ferry to Stornoway, the principal town in the Western Isles. The town offers some lovely pubs and restaurants, a range of shops including a well-stocked supermarket, a challenging coastal golf course and a museum and Visitor Centre on West Argyle Street for those wishing to discover more about the area. The museum covers a range of topics including crofting, fishing, emigration and the history of the town. Ullapool is also an ideal base from which to explore the North West of Scotland, with most of the main tourist attractions an easy drive away. The National Trust for Scotland Inverewe Gardens, created by Osgood MacKenzie who collected plants from all parts of the world, is a particular highlight.
