  • "This was our second stay at Rutland luxury lodges."

Fantastic time as always. Staff are so friendly and couldn't do more for you! We had a small issue with the door to the garden not locking properly and someone from maintenance came out straight away and fixed it with no problem. Spacious clean and have everything you need. Our garden was fairly large which was great as we had 2 children with us. Looking forward to our next stay!

Lovely welcome pack. The staff are cheerful, friendly and efficient. The site is quiet and well maintained with attractive shrubbery and hedging. Its a great place to stay. Lots to do in the surroundings too. Although surrounded by fields its close to some lovely villages and not far from the A1 for trips further afield.

The welcome pack is such a treat with the Prosecco, chocolates, etc. Swimming pool just a stroll from the lodges too. Really comfortable beds and such a quiet location. Ideally situated to explore the surrounding area. The local pub is just a short walk away with good food. The breakfast in the on-site cafe was so good! This was our second visit with friends, had previously stayed in a larger lodge and will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend staying here, thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.

  • "The lodge itself was fantastic."

Very hot so we had to go round and turn off heating. A couple of lightbulbs out but we forgot to pass that on. Very well supplied and the welcome pack was great. We bought food from the on site cafe and that was also lovely. Hot tub was good. Didn’t try the sauna because it smelt a bit odd inside. Thirty minute bookings for the pool aren’t really enough but given its size v the number of guests, I can’t think of an alternative. My issue is the industrial work next door. Had the wind been in a different direction we would have been totally smoked out. There was very loud machinery noise early one morning.

Lovely to hear that you enjoyed the lodge and cafe! Sorry, you experienced this Gemma, we hope this didn’t spoil your holiday, thank you for making us aware of these matters, I value guest all feedback. Property Owner

The lodge was beautifully decorated and presented, the underfloor heating was a delight. The hottub and sauna were fantastic and the perfect recipe for a relaxing weekend. There was a welcome pack in the lodge that included a bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and box of fresh eggs which was a lovely surprise. We didn't want to leave and honestly can't wait to visit here again.

  • "We were very impressed with the lodge."

Lovely and clean, very nice touches with the robes, toiletries and welcome pack. We would've given five stars but unfortunately on our last night we had the awful experience of being smoked out from the bonfire on the adjacent farm. This went on from around 7pm until 2am. We could not use the hot tub or sauna. The smog and smell was awful. We couldn't open any windows or doors due to the smoke. I did report this to the wardens who said they would pass our issues on. We would book again but it would be a lodge further from the farm entrance where the bonfires are.

Welcome package on arrival with Prosecco, Chocolates, Eggs etc. Hot Tub and Sauna both great with robes provided. We used the private pool which is right opposite so could just wander over in robes. We had a lovely relaxing time, in and out of the Hot Tub, board games (monopoly provided!), drinks and food. Hoping to return late next year. Small selection of goods to buy in reception (food, drinks, ice cream etc). Small cafe that we didn't use but looks nice. Short walk into the village which has a lovely pub called The Plough which had a small shop attached. The pub and the meal was excellent and the shop was handy for grabbing some milk and butter etc.

Lots of large towels were provided which was really nice. Great supply of instant hot water. It was not possible to connect to internet which was disappointing. Our only complaint is that the lighting in the living area was poor and not good enough for reading on an evening. We enjoyed the privacy of the garden area which had table, chairs, recliners, hot tub and sauna. We did not try the sauna as the weather was so hot. A really nice stay. We would recommend this lodge to others.

  • "The lodge was a modern very comfortable place and we had a great time."

There were some issues though, in the beginning, One of the sinks wouldn't hold water, the supplied iron didn't work and the big thing was the freezer wasn't working. We only found this out after we'd been for a shop and filled it, only to find the next day it had all defrosted. The owners resolved all the issues fairly quickly but was frustrated at losing some food. Also, the internet was very sketchy to non existent. However that said, it was a lovely lodge and we had a great time, very comfortable, roomy and the hot tube and sauna were great. Non of the above things had any impact on the holiday and we would be glad to return anytime.

You can only access wi fi if you sit under a mast on the camping site which is not practical. Even then it was so weak and we were to log on then go back to lodge and all would be good. No it was not! Wi fi may not be important to some whilst on holiday but it most certainly was required by us, that was taken into account when we made our choice. It did say we could get wi fi. Unless owner is going to put wi fi into lodges they should Not say it there. It spoilt our stay. Now I do not trust Sykes holidays to give me the correct information which they should have checked.

  • "We were extremely excited for a relaxing getaway and instead we’re faced with the absence of basic necessities such as central heating and hot water, the staff seemed to be very relaxed about this issue; and it took 2 days for us to even get this issue fixed."

This meant that for the majority of our stay we were cold and couldn’t take many showers due to the absence of hot water. The electricity also seemed to be temperamental and went off and on constantly throughout the night, once again the staff took no immediate action to solve this; when asked for help with the WiFi the reception responded by saying that they were unsure on how it works. When we were checking out we hoped to receive some compensation or even an apology for all the difficulties that we had faced however we did not receive any of this, we even asked to give feedback and the lady at reception was rather cold and said that we should use trip advisor if we had any complaints. Overall it was a stressful visit, where we had to supervise electricians and plumbers - which was extremely unsettling due to COVID.

  • "Quiet , comfortable and relaxing stay."

Hot tub and sauna a real bonus. Flat and private garden. Children's play area was open, and another play area by the community centre. Comfortable bed, good shower and well equipped lodge. Welcome pack was lovely, the eggs were especially good. Fresh bread can be ordered from reception. Days out to Rutland Water, Oakham, Stamford, Fineshade Woods and Barnsdale gardens. Easy walk to village, 2 pubs and a shop. Ate in both pubs and would recommend them. Some details missing from website which would have been handy to know:- dressing gowns, washing up liquid and sponge, iron and board and hair dryer all provided. We also had to pay to hire the pool (£16); other reviews said it was free. Would benefit from black out lining in bedrooms and better clothes airer and pegs to avoid over reliance on tumble dryer. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, came back feeling relaxed. In this climate especially we felt safe and protected.
