The property

Rose Villa is a great cottage for friends or family looking to explore the great surroundings that this area has to offer.

The property, which is nearly 200 years old, retains many original features whilst having all the modern features of everyday living, with a living room with a wood burner, separate dining area, kitchen and utility, with all the home-from-home comforts.

Rose Villa has a private enclosed garden with rural views and is perfect for letting the children or your dogs have a runaround.

There is also a garage for those wanting to bring their bicycles, fishing rods or golf clubs.

The utility area is great for storing mud boots, coats etc after a day walking in the glorious Welsh countryside.

Cilmery village is close to the site of the death of Prince Llewelyn in 1282 and has a monument which is well worth a visit the village has a train station which is on the Heart of Wales line, why not pack a picnic and have a scenic train ride to sugar loaf mountain?

The village is also served by a bus service (X14) which runs on a Friday to Carmarthen.

For those rainy days, that keep Wales so lush and green, there are selections of books and games. Just over 2 miles away is the market town of Builth Wells which has an array of shops, cafés, restaurants and coffee shops.

Builth Wells is also home to the Royal Welsh Showground which has an abundance of shows throughout the year.

For golf enthusiasts, there is a great course on the edge of Builth Wells.

The spa town of Llandrindod Wells is a short drive from the property, where you can take a wander around the lake and listen to the wildlife.

Elan Valley is a must-see day out with its fabulous dams and array of wildlife, including the Red Kites.

There is also the Red Kite feeding station, which is superb to watch how the birds are fed. This property is perfect for exploring all that Mid Wales has to offer.

It is approximately a 40-minute drive from the Brecon Beacons National Park and half an hour’s drive from Hay-on-Wye, which is world-famous for its second-hand and antiquarian bookshops.

Hay-on-Wye also hosts its famous Hay Festival every year in May.
