EV charger as bonus. Great having outdoor activities & summerhouse. Plenty wooden garden furniture, parasol. Would benefit from outdoor cushions & sun loungers. Also plastic glasses & plates for Al fresco dining. Great location with beach, cafes & shops close by. Would highly recommend a visit.

  • "Lovely spacious, modern bungalow with all mod cons in a lovely quiet area and spotlessly clean - plenty of space for grandparents/daughter and two grandchildren enjoying the garden and games room."

Enjoyed the walks from the bungalow to the cliff tops, beach, town and Filey Bird Garden and Animal park. Already re-booked for next year!

  • "We have had a great holiday here."

Sea Mist have a great base for our stay in Filey which was in a great location for the beach and town. I gave a lower score for comfort as we found the beds very uncomfortable. Overall though the property was excellent. Ideal for our two young boys who could run in and out and play safely in the garden and shed. Ideally we would have liked some drawers to store clothing.

Thanks for the feedback on the beds, many guest have left positive feedback but all our guest's comfort matters to us, we've listened to your feedback and made an upgrade to ensure a restful stay. Our top-quality Silent Night Miracoil mattresses, recently renewed, promise superior comfort. Recognising everyone has unique preferences though we've gone the extra mile by introducing Emma mattress toppers on our luxurious King Size beds, ZeroGravity foam offers customizable firmness on both sides. • "The bungalow was immaculate, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything you could need."

The owners should be very proud of the way it is presented. The games room was a surprise, equipped with wet suites, surfboard, full set of golf clubs, dart board, table football and a fruit machine- a child's dream. You might wish to warn the owners that the tarmac drive is starting to break up and weeds have started to grow through.

  • "A lovely property."

Just one little niggle. It was very warm and would have loved the addition of a sun umbrella for the garden. There was nothing to give us shade.

Thanks for the feedback, we will purchase a sturdy and weatherproof garden parasol and store it in the large games room and bar area for guest use, we agree this will benefit as an addition to the multiple seating spanning the garden and patio and will create shade and privacy over the seating areas, it will also protect from guests the sun. Surprised to find foil, cling film, dishwasher tablets etc - really appreciated! The property was immaculately clean with everything you could possibly ask for. Great position too with just a short walk to shops and pubs. Our only problem was getting onto wifi but once we realised what looked like lower case l’s we’re actually capital I’s we got straight on. I think the only thing missing was an oven glove. Overall couldn’t fault it at all and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

About the location

FILEY

Scarborough 7.7 miles; Bridlington 10.5 miles.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. Gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and minke whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
