We were given a warm welcome by the owner and had a lovely stay.

  • "Croft House proved an excellent choice for exploring the parts of the Highlands we anticipated seeing."

Kate was a very friendly and helpful host and the Croft was very well thought out and equipped, making our stay very enjoyable. Feeding the horses and watching the Red Kites were an added bonus! There was easy access to roads going to the depths of the Highlands and also to Inverness itself, or you could just enjoy the fabulous views in peaceful surroundings. In short, it was simple, comfortable and beautiful. Can highly recommend.

  • "What an absolutely fantastic cottage, location and owners."

As soon as we arrived, we felt welcomed, and got settled in straight away. The cottage has everything and more, even some complimentary biscuits for us. The owner (Kate) had left us with milk and some food provisions, that we weren't expecting, but kindly appreciated. The cottage is so cosy, lovely and extremely clean. At night you don't hear a sound and it's pitch black, perfect for a good night's sleep. The owners are only across the yard, so if you need anything, they are close by and they have horses that you can visit and feed to the side of the cottage. I checked with Kate, to see if we could give them food, and got them some carrots. While at the cottage we got to see rabbits every morning and evening, plus the horses and sheep nearby. We spotted the Red Kites too, while taking in the gorgeous views of the mountains towards Loch Ness. Beautiful sunsets, very atmospheric. None of us wanted to leave, and would definitely return. Thank you ❤️

  • "We had a lovely week at the Croft House which was situated in the most beautiful countryside overlooking the Sutherland mountains."

Very friendly owner was there to welcome us and show us the cottage. We appreciated the welcome biscuits, milk and tea and coffee as well as other foodstuffs, dishwasher tablets which you often have to buy when self catering. The cottage was cosy and spotlessly clean, with everything needed for our comfort. The location was perfect for travelling within the Black Isle and beyond.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. Hope to see you again sometime. X Property Owner

  • "The Croft House was perfect for us; two comfortable bedrooms, a spacious walk-in shower and well-provided with those things that make self-catering so much easier."

It's surrounded by quiet fields so very peaceful, but the hosts live close by if needed. We found it a perfect location for so many fabulous walks; the Fairy Glen in Rosekillie, watching for bottle-nose dolphins and porpoise from Chanonry Point, then walking along the beach to Rosekillie for a relaxed lunch at the beach cafe, Cromarty - and many other beautiful and interesting places. A little further afield, it's worth exploring the fabulous Glen Affric, with its loch, rivers, waterfalls and stunning scenery. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming - we would definitely choose The Croft House again.

It was warm, comfortable and well laid out. Everything felt brand new and all our needs were catered for. I would certainly come back again and would have no hesitation in recommending the Croft House as a very good place to stay. With 2 good sized bedrooms and plenty of storage space with wardrobes and drawers, this cottage was good value for money.

It is an ideal base for travelling across to the west coast or the north and northeast coasts. Even though there was a snow storm the local roads were very well maintained so we had no problems.

It is a lovely little cottage and was incredibly clean. The owners are on hand if any issue should arise and provided a welcome pack of biscuits and milk. The views from the cottage are spectacular and the red kites even showed up as we drove up to the cottage. There is so much to do in the area, we would definitely stay again if we went back to the Highlands.

Glen Afric, one of the most picturesque places in Scotland is only about 20 miles from Croft house and is really worth a visit for anyone who has not visited there, be sure to take a camera with you. The facilities in Croft house are second to non, the Kitchen is small and well laid out and has modern cooking appliances and an eye level oven and microwave and a separate hob. The sitting room is very comfortable with a quite large modern TV with many channels unlike some rented properties. Both bedrooms have very comfortable beds complete with very warm duvets (we were there in early November) and had one or two quite chilly nights, never felt the cold. Finally Mr and Mrs Maciver are a very friendly and helpful couple who cannot do enough to make the time spent at Croft house a holiday to remember. .

The Croft is beautifully furnished and the owners have paid attention to all details in terms of comfort and aesthetic qualities including a private deck area. A lovely touch of milk, tea/coffee and biscuits were left (much needed after a long journey!). In addition to this, the owners left a well stocked cupboard in the kitchen with extras such as stock cubes, mini cereal boxes, sauces etc. The view from the Croft is of the owners land and you can say hello to their 4 horses. Kate, Ali and their daughter were very friendly and approachable. The Croft is ideally positioned for touring the Black Isle and surrounding areas. We even travelled to John O'Groats. Inverness is within a 10 minute drive offering a good selection of shops and restaurants. Closer to the Croft is Muir of Ord which has a well stocked Co-operative and a decent chip shop that is open every evening from 4.30pm.
