  • "Beehive Barn is a lovely spacious property well located and easily accessed."

The kitchen is very well stocked with crockery, cutlery, pans, glasses etc to make home from home entertaining easy. The owners were very generous in their Christmas decorations, gift and provisions. We would happily return.

  • "Over all a lovely stay, location was perfect for exploring."

Property was clean and homely, with the fire being a great bonus! Only a few issues to help improve our stay: A mirror and wardrobe in the second bedroom would be really helpful. A few lightbulbs were not working in the kitchen which made it quite dark when cooking and the rollers on top shelf of the dishwasher are broken, making it really difficult to use.

  • "What a wonderful cottage this is!"

It already looks good in the pictures, I didn't expect it to look even better in situ. The main bedroom is so spacious, and still cosy and warm. Every room is lovely decorated, we felt at home straight away. Everything works perfectly well, the garden is beautiful, the views are gorgeous and the location is impossible to improve, near Holy Island and a step away from many beautiful attractions. Our kids loved the bunk beds and the tennis facility. We loved the cottage, we had a dream holiday. We will be coming back if we are lucky.

  • "We stayed at Beehive Barn in August 2022 and loved the property and surrounding area."

The Barn is beautiful, it is tastefully decorated and has many extras for example an original juke box playing vinyl records. There is everything in the barn you would need for a comfortable relaxing stay. To the front are views of Holy Island and to the back are fields. Close to the A1 (you can’t hear any traffic) you can easily explore the stunning surrounding area. We would definitely return to Beehive Barn.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Beehive Barn."

The house was so comfortable, and in such a brilliant position, it couldn't have been bettered. This was my first visit to Northumberland (we had wanted to stay in the Borders but couldn't find a house we liked) and I was blown away by the beauty of the county - the empty beaches, stunning moors, and endless castles and ruins. The people were so friendly too - every single person we met was charming and welcoming. And there was so much to do. We absolutely can't wait to come back. Thank you.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Fitted to a high standard and equipped with everything we needed, and more! Really enjoyed the jukebox, open fire, large garden, and views of the sea. Thoroughly enjoyable and will definitely be back!

  • "Lovely property and very clean , well equipped and close to many beautiful places to visit."

We couldn't fault the place itself, our only issue is the check in and out times they are really inconvenient . To arrive at 5 pm is very late and then to have to leave at 9am on the last day is a real pain. Just an extra hour would take the pressure off clearing up , having breakfast and packing ?

Thank you so much for your feedback Jane. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We have noted your comments on the check in/out times. This should have been updated. For all future stays the check in is now 4pm and checkout is 10am. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely a great property - very spacious and well equipped."

Very nicely furnished and lovely and comfortable. Location is stunning with views overlooking Lindisfarne. A superb base from which to easily and quickly explore the whole of Northumbria - most attractions/sites were within 30 mins drive in any direction. Pub across the way was ok but the Black Bull Inn just a little further out at Lowick is excellent for meals. Owners responded very promptly to a query while we were there. Would happily use again or recommend.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed the local area. We will definitely try out your pub recommendation next time we are there! Property Owner

  • "Beehive barn is lovely and comfortable."

It is large and well suited to six people. We were only two so had lots of space. We visited in Feb expecting bad weather but it was sunny but windy. The cottage is exposed so the wind rattles through. We had some trouble with the heating on the first day where the thermostat didn't connect so we were very cold. It connected on the 2nd day so we could set it to come on. The location is great for the Northumberland coast which we spent walking for the week. You need supply your own wood for the fire if you want it on. Would highly recommend this cottage

Thank you for your review Beverly and I'm pleased to see your comment "Would highly recommend this cottage" and we are pleased that you enjoyed your week. However, I would like to address a couple of points in your review: - The barn is not cold. You highlighted an issue to me with regards to the thermostat which I immediately responded to. Once the thermostat had been switched back onto 'Schedule' rather than manual 'boost' you informed me the barn was toasty. This issue was purely about the thermostat settings from prior use, not a lack of connection, and was an easy/quick fix. - Whilst your stay was during some of the worst storms the North East has seen in a while, the wind does not 'rattle through' the barn. The walls are at least 3ft thick and there is double glazing throughout. I can imagine it sounded that way in such high winds, but the barn conversion is of a very high standard. Property Owner

  • "The house itself was perfect."

There was plenty of space and was well equipped--it is nice having a TV i the kitchen as well as the Lounge. There was reasonable space for 2 large cars at the front. The only criticism was the directions to the cottage--we was arriving late at night when it was dark and basically the instructions do not take you to the house (neither does the Sat Nav), we ended up asking at a local pub--so for future users please change those instructions--the house when you arrive is however perfect.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry the directions were confusing, we have since updated these and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do hope to welcome you again in the near future. Best wishes. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay."

The cottage is very well equipped and is perfectly located just off the A1, making it very accessible to all the local attractions. With Holy Island just a couple of miles down the road and Edinburgh just 60 miles further north, it’s in a great position. The cottage has a very large garden looking out onto fields of sheep and with views out to sea, Holy Islands and in the far distance, Bamburgh castle. Kitchen is very well equipped, lounge is comfy and snug with a log burner. Beds very comfortable. If I was to be super picky, it’s would be useful to have some bath sheets. Whilst there’s plenty of towels, it’s nice to have a big towel and the lighting in the kitchen might be a bit dim for some with poorer vision. Otherwise, really can’t fault the cottage and the attentiveness of the owners.

Well positioned for seeing the Northumberland coast. The owners responded speedily when there was a glitch with the heating. The place is clean, warm, stylish and luxurious. Could do with more mirrors and hanging space, but they are small suggestions.
