Moor Croft

It was our third stay at moor croft.

We had a lovely comfortable time there. I have marked it a three regarding cleanliness as the skirting boards needed a good dusting. I have marked it a three on facilities, as I wish wash powder was included with the washing machine. Having said all of that, I will be going back.

Great accommodation can not wait to say again .

We had a fantastic stay at Moor Croft and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

The location is excellent, with the added bonus of having a dedicated parking space, which is a real advantage in Whitby. The property has everything you could possibly need in a holiday home to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It’s well equipped and really feels like a home away from home. Moor Croft is close enough to the town centre to walk in easily and enjoy everything Whitby has to offer, yet it’s far enough away that you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet when you return. When we come back to Whitby Moor Croft will definitely be one of the first places we look to book again.

Moorcroft is a lovely property.

The owners Hames and Kate were friendly and helpful. Well equipped with all we needed. Good powerful shower and hot water on tap. Comfortable beds. Two toilets a bonus with 4 adults. A separate kitchen diner and sitting room was great with ample space for 4 adults to eat. The addition of a parking space was a luxury in Whitby. Close to the town centre, shops and pubs. We will return.

We had an amazing holiday, accomodation was great, everything you need.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely cottage.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the cottage was well stocked. We did leave request a couple of egg cups in the property but a minor detail really.

Spent a pleasant few days using the cottage as a base for our holiday in Whitby.

For me the bed is too soft, so I had a bad back every night. But other than that, exalent accommodation.

Great place to stay for visiting Whitby & neighbouring villages. Park and explore this interesting place on foot. If you want to venture a little further you’re within strolling distance of bus stops and the train station. Highly recommend to all.

Moorcroft was really a home from home.

We typically choose holiday cottages when we go away and this has to be the nicest one we have stayed in. The paintings are a lovely touch and we had everything we needed at hand. When we return to Whitby we will certainly have Moorcroft in mind for another stay.

Moor Croft is a very comfortable cottage in an excellent location, being only a few minutes walk from the centre of Whitby and its many good quality eating places.

Access to an adjacent, dedicated, parking space is a real bonus however with the bus station only five minutes walk away and excellent bus services we left the car at the cottage most days. Overall a very good base to see the delights of this part of Yorkshire.

This was our 3rd stay at Moor Croft.

It's very comfortable and close to all amenities but also quiet. The parking space is a massive bonus. We highly recommend and hope to return next year. Thank you.

Pros: This property is in a good location, easy to reach the town centre, lots of lovely places to eat in Whitby.

Cons: There had been no proper cleaning done for a very long time, the windows were filthy, cobwebs everywhere, there was one so thick in the bathroom I actually thought it was a piece of string, everything just seemed like it was done on the cheap, the towels need replacing. No effort from whoever ( owner) whatsoever regarding making as nice as possible for paying guests. We also found a half eaten ice cream dessert left in the freezer so no checking had been done prior to our arrival. The bathroom needed a good clean, black mould on the shower head and black mould and green algae on the trim of the shower screen ( these are removable and should be clear) also around the taps both in the bathroom and downstairs toilet were grubby. I don’t like leaving a negative review but when you pay good money to stay somewhere you would expect it to be clean and comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at this beautify, cosy cottage and would love to return.

The location was excellent in respect to the town centre and the parking space was a real bonus. There were a couple of little things missing that we could have done with, i.e. we needed to buy some kitchen scissors, there was no large serving spoon, and a rubber mat for the bath would have made it feel safer. Overall though, we loved it and would not hesitate to book Moor Croft again.

It is a lovely cottage with all the amenities necessary to enjoy your stay.

Kate greeted us upon arrival and made recommendations for restaurants and pubs. She ensured there was sufficient heating to keep us warm. I would most certainly return if holidaying in Whitby. Great location too!

This is our 2nd stay at Moorcroft, which is a lovely cottage in a perfect location with the added benefit of a parking space.

The cottage has everything that you need for your stay, its clean and comfortable. Hopefully we will be back again next year

Nice cosy cottage, close to restaurants and the shops of Whitby, the Yorkshire coastal towns and moors short drive away, overall a great base for a holiday in North Yorkshire.

.. great location and facilities. Couple of little moans The cottage was freezing when we arrived and the fire in the lounge isn't great. On the last day when we removed the covers from the bedding the pillows and duvet and found underneath was rather stained.The sofa has seen better days too.

Delightfull cottage very comfy and warm everything provided and little thoughfull extras very clean and car parking a bonus.

owner had 2 lovely cats which we saw on arrival. All in all a wonderrful short stay for two78 year olds. We would love to come again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Moor Croft.

The beautiful cottage is cosy, very comfortable, well decorated & furnished and has everything that you would need for a very pleasant stay with, the added bonus of, a parking space. The location is ideal and is only a short walk down to the shops, pubs and restaurants. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

There was a light bulb out in the bathroom,and that was the one and only problem we had all week with this property.

With Whitby being ancient and all car parking was one of the main reasons for booking Moor Croft. A remarkable transformation from garage to neat cosy residence, thanks again for the weeks stay.

Liked the quiet location, yet only a few minutes walk into the centre of Whitby. Having its own car parking space was a great bonus. Very friendly & helpful owner. I would stay there again & will be recommending it to other people.

Lovely comfy cottage ideally placed for all amenities.

The garage across the road was useful for milk and newspapers and milk in the fridge when we arrived was great along with the welcome cakes. Parking space was fine for our car. We would definitely go again. Just a suggestion (not a criticism), the shower is over the bath and as there is a shower screen not a curtain we both found it difficult to climb out of the bath without something to hold on and steady ourselves, a grab handle on the wall by the door would be very helpful . Thank you for a lovely week and the weather behaved itself as well.

It was our second time at Moor Cottage and it didn’t disappoint.

Comfortable and well located for days out.

Such a lovely cottage in a great location.

Everything you could need in a home away from home was provided. We have a two year old & not having to bring a high chair or travel cot was invaluable. On site parking was a huge bonus too. The walk in to town takes around 5 minutes but it is down a steep incline, therefore if you have mobility issues (or kids in buggies like we did) just be aware/prepared. We didn’t mind the exercise though! We met Kate (one of the owners) on our last day, very friendly & helpful. We were able to purchase a parking permit from her for the day so we could pop down in to Whitby for the day before heading off. Would highly recommend and visit this property again if staying in the area.

Moor Croft is well-positioned close to road connections and within an easy stroll of both the town centre and the West Cliff area.

The accommodation is cosy and comfortable with the bonus of on-site parking. The owners and neighbours are friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to ensure our stay was trouble-free. We certainly anticipate returning to this property to enjoy the quaint and quirky town of Whitby and the surrounding coastal attractions.

EXCELLENT location ,and quiet

This is our third year at Whitby, stopping at Moor Croft and it really does feel like a home from home, ideally located close enough to be a nice walk and far enough away that it is is quiet in the evenings, Pannett Park is just over the road which our 2 year old loved.

The Accommodation was overall of a good standard. The location was ideal for going to to Whitby, the beach and pannett park. The park was useful for our Grandson, especially as there is no enclosed garden at the property. Thank you Christine, Sarah, Bethan and Charlie

Great place and location but disapointing that the central heating times were 'fixed and locked' .

Not really a problem in Spring but wouldnt want to go there in Winter

A well equipped, comfortable holiday home with the bonus of parking for one car.

The cottage was ideally situated for our needs especially with the added bonus of the parking space.

We had such a wonderful stay in this lovely little cottage, it had everything we needed and more.

The welcome box was a lovely thought, and the decor of the cottage was so homely and cosy. The location was just perfect, a short walk into town to all the restaurants etc was ideal, We will definitely be recommending Moorcroft to our friends.

We had a pleasant short break.

The cottage is a lovely size for 2 people with ample space. The furnishing are comfortable and the original artwork brings the property character. The water temperature is restricted and the central heating only comes on twice a day and we unfortunately arrived at the end of a very blustery cold storm. A couple of fluffy blankets would be most welcomed! The car space was fine for my Peugeot 105. The evenings and nighttime were very quiet, you wouldn’t know you were next door to a fire station and ambulance depot! All in all a pleasant stay.

The welcome basket was a really thoughtful touch - milk in the fridge for that cup of tea when you arrive, and lots of helpful information to help you get your bearings. Perfect location wise and the car parking space took away all the stress that could have bought without it. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We had a really lovely stay in this beautiful cottage.

It’s was really well located, just a short walk to the harbour and town centre. Really close to Pannett Park and the museum, my daughter loved seeing the (incredibly tame) squirrels on our walks in the park. The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped, hosts are friendly, and live over the road if there are any issues. On-site parking is a real bonus in Whitby and was one of the main reasons we chose the property, however we would come again because the house is so lovely. Many thanks for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

The cottage was ideally situated and only a short walk into town. The surrounding area was also within walking distance. The allocated parking was a definite plus!

Loved the cottage and it's very convenient location to the harbour area where one has numerous choices of bars, pubs, eateries and general shops.

The accommodation was very cosy and well equipped. Ok, it didn't have a dish washer but to be honest that was not an issue for us. The owners, Kate and James, were most welcoming and very charming hosts. The accommodation comes with a dedicated parking space adjacent to it within the private courtyard. This is a huge plus. It was great just being able to leave the car at the cottage and wander around the town. Some guests have commented on the size of the car parking space. Don't worry, the space can accommodate a larger than average sized vehicle. We had no trouble parking our SUV. Just unload first, then reverse in, no problem. We will most certainly be booking this cottage again. A gem of a place.

Nice cottage in great location.

Easy access to west cliff and harbour area. Only downside is small outside seating area that loses the sun.

The cottage was booked after seeing the photos on your website.

The other reason for booking was the off street parking space (which was tiny but adequate- empty the boot before reversing in!), a boon in a busy town like Whitby. Overall we had a great time out and about and enjoyed the time indoors too.

Had a lovely winter break here with my wife, and we used the cottage as a bit of a base for going walking on the moors and along the Cleveland Way.

The cottage was well stocked and in particular the kitchen had everything we needed. The owner was lovely and very kindly posted an item we’d left behind back to us!

Comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, conveniently situated.

Really very good. Parking a trifle awkward and sitting outside is in what amounts to a small car park but enjoyed our time in Whitby very much despite some awkward weather.

Well equipped cosy cottage in a grey location.

Unfortunately there was a lack of attention to cleanliness with a lot of cobwebs, dust, dead insects and dirty carpets.

A lot of the furniture was vintage so quite musty. We agree with a previous comment about the cats and although there is a note about this, if you wish to the leave window open at night (in the main bedroom) or on warm day you can’t do as they try to get in, which they did. On the plus side the house in a good location with a parking space, was spacious for 4 with comfortable beds and nice artwork. We just wish it had been clean as we would not recommend in the condition we found it.

There is only one problem with Moor Croft.

The owner of the property has 2 cats which like to treat the cottage as their own. Gt

The cottage was just right for the 3 of us.

Very comfortable and we had a very relaxing time. The guide you've put together is great and has a lot of info. We did a lot of the museums and quite a few walks. Didn't need to use the car until it was time to go home.

Couldn’t have wished for anything better, home from home, really enjoyed it.
