A charming, stone-built cottage, adjoining an original mill house, in the peaceful Cornish village of St Keyne, 3 miles from Liskeard. The Retreat is cosy and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen, open plan living area and private patio, ideal for sitting out and relaxing. Featured in the Daphne Du Maurier novel 'The King's General', the cottage is superbly located in the heart of the Cornish countryside. The former mill is now a renowned museum of ‘Magnificent Music Machines’, to which cottage guests receive free entry, and just a short walk away is the single track Looe Valley Railway, which provides easy access to the wonderful south coast. With Polperro and Truro a short drive away, this superb area of Cornwall never fails to draw visitors year after year. Note: This property can be booked with ref 2470 to accommodate 4 people.

This is our third visit to this cottage. We like the fact that it is quiet and peaceful and gives us the relaxation that is well needed. The surrounding areas are great to walk the dogs with towns, woodlands and of course the fabulous beaches. We really like this cottage as the garden is safe and secure and I can let the dogs out to explore. So thank you to the owner for perfect, comfy, safe accommodation. We will be back.
