About the location

Sandend

Portsoy 3 miles; Cullen 3 miles.

Sandend is a small historical village dating from the 1600’s and boasts a fabulous bay, golden sands and a harbour. Sandend is one of the smallest fishing villages on the north east coast, but due to its close proximity to the larger village of Portsoy and town of Cullen, means that it benefits from the excellent facilities nearby, whilst retaining a quieter and more peaceful ambience. Whilst there are no shops and pubs within Sandend itself, it does boast a fabulous smokery meaning there is no shortage of fresh fish, plus at the east end of Sandend Bay you can enjoy whisky sampling at Glenglassaugh Distillery. Sandend is perfectly located for visiting the many pretty fishing villages scattered along the north east coast, all of which have their own history and excellent local services. The area also offers opportunities for golfing, fishing, sailing, surfing, cycling, birdwatching and beach walking. Whatever the weather the scenery in this part of Scotland is stunning.

A beautiful location, and perfect seaside holiday, as the cottage is yards from a clean sandy beach.

Mrs McIntyre, Blairgowrie, November 2013

This is a lovely cottage with the most breath taking scenery. I loved the homely feel of this cottage. The beach is on the door step, and ideal if you have a dog. Will be booking up again.

Mrs Barty, Dundee, October 2013

The cottages was adorable, had everything you needed. The views from the bay window was to die for, well worth sitting there to see the dolphins swimming in the bay. Lovely beach, very clean and tidy. Local people very friendly. The surrounding villages were lovely, very quaint, well worth the trips out. Really enjoyed our holiday, would love to go back again.

Mrs Hulbert, Harlow, August 2013

The beach was the best thing and the stillness of the property. Just wish I had more time there - loved it!

Mrs Taylor, Paisley, January 2013
