The Studio

Had another great vacation at The Studio.

Well equipped and presented. Good to explore York and beyond but also good for walks nearby, Gold Cup Inn well worth a visit. Garden very secure and paddock opposite great for exercising our dog. See you again in 2028.

Absolutely fantastic stay at The Studio.

A warm welcome from Rose, good contact before as was ready for me 1 hour before and a fan was plugged in ready to cope with the heatwave. The garden was most welcome with shade from the fruit trees. Everything was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The area is stunning with fast access to Grimston bar park and ride for York City. Slightly further afield Flamborough head circular was sensational for nesting birds, and the 2 country parks either side of the Humber bridge offer free parking. Pocklington canal head into the village was a favourite local walk of ours. There is do much to see and do. Castle Howard parkland on the way home was sensational. What a place! Farm shops and quality butchers are a-plenty in this area with good food and drink to be had in the pubs and cafes. Hope to return soon. Thankyou Rose, Colin and Gil

We enjoyed a wonderful week staying at the Studio.

Clean, comfortable & so peaceful, lovely to sit in the garden & just heard the birds singing. Ideal location for getting out to visit the many beautiful villages & towns. The owners, Rose & Colin were very friendly & welcoming & made sure that we had everything we needed. Will definitely visit again.

This wasn't my first stay at The Studio and won't be my last.

It was very comfortable, clean and warm and the quiet rural location was perfect, though a short distance into York.

We had a great stay at The studio everything spotless and everything you need for holiday is there.

Loverly cake and milk and the Xmas decorations too Ideal place to stay with a dog enclosed garden and nice and quiet Used the Grimston Park and ride to go to York plenty of buses running

Lovely comfortable, clean cottage, very central for York & surrounding areas.

We had a relaxing few days although we cut it short due to the weather not being kind to us. The cottage itself had everything we needed (apart from a bottle of shower cleaning spray

The external lighting could be reviewed as arriving in the dark did not always trigger the PIR

A quiet peaceful little cottage at which we have stayed many times over the years.

This small but comfortable cottage is in a brilliant location.

We've stayed here twice and the guest book has comments from many who have stayed here more than once, so something must be good. About 10 minutes from the York Park & Ride, it is also to the East of the city, just an hour from places like Scarborough, Whitby and Flamborough Head. We may well return for a third stay in the future.

Overall, perfect really.

Very well laid out, lots of interior space. Really good outside garden and patio space too.

Enjoyed our stay at the studio.

Comfortable and well equipped cottage . The garden is great for the dog being enclosed and also for us too as weather was hot. Would recommend this property to anyone,it's really good value for the money. Hope to return

Great little place to stay, very comfortable and clean with a lovely little garden to relax in.

Would definitely recommend!

The Studio, was as described online, perfectly presented, spotless and fully equipped with everything you could need.

The area is lovely with lovely walks with furry family members, huge enclosed garden with fruit trees, sun loungers, patio furniture, that was used alot. Land of nod suits these very cute cottages, peace n quiet, owner Rose was helpful, the homemade cake, milk, tea n coffee on arrival was so thoughtful, plus fresh garden flowers. It was perfect. Thankyou Rose and hubby. Would love to return. Caz,. Martin n Mars the dog.

Nice quiet location good base for seeing local area loverly owners

Stayed in this wonderful apartment for a week.

I cannot fault the location. If you need somewhere quiet then this is where to chill. When we stayed it was in the high twenties, so if I may suggest a portable fan would be in order, even with the skylight open the bedroom was a tad hot. Otherwise nothing to report.

We had a lovely stay in this delightful cottage.

If you're looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. The owners were so helpful and kind can't recommend enough and hopefully will stay again soon.

Very nice holiday property.

Well equipped kitchen. Comfy sitting area. Everything I needed. Would definitely book again.

My second stay at the Studio (first was 11 years earlier) and it was as comfortable and clean as I remembered it.

Nice quiet location and easy access into York. I would be happy to recommend this accommodation to others.

The Studio is a lovely cottage, perfect for two and a dog!

It is comfortable and has everything you need. It is set in a quiet and peaceful area and had a pretty, private garden, which our dog loved. The cottage was in an ideal place for visiting family in York; only 20 minutes away. There are many places of interest to visit in the area.

This was a last-minute booking to allow me to attend a funeral so we took whatever was available….

.however, I would easily choose this lovely cottage again when visiting the area. Nice secure garden for the dog and a quiet location. Nearby Stamford Bridge was a surprise..,,lovely wee town and a nice walk along the railway path from the well-maintained old station,

Wonderful well equipped cottage.

Perfectly located for visiting york and the surrounding area. The fenced in garden was a massive hit with our dog.

Lovely cottage and the perfect place for a getaway.

Handy for local shops and a couple of local pubs that do food. The cottage is a home from home and has everything you could need, while being very comfortable. When we were in the cottage we spent the majority of the time with the French doors open listening and watching the birds hopping around in the trees in the orchard. Rose is a very welcoming host and full of helpful information for your stay. Would definitely recommend.

We absolutely love this cottage.

It's perfectly situated for visiting our son who lives in york. Very well equipped and has a lovely comfy bed. Our dog absolutely loves the private garden attached. We have stayed here 3 times and have booked for our 4th stay

Enjoyed our stay at the Studio, comfortable, spacious, nice treats ie tea/milk/cake & Xmas tree.

Ideal location for us to visit family & get into York as near park & ride. Would definitely rebook.

Lovely property.

Very well looked after and made very welcome by the host.

Very clean property, dog friendly, steady WiFi and cellular signal is also good, Always a pleasure to stay here, we'll be booking again next year.

A well appointed cottage ideally situated for Grimston Bar park and ride for those intending to visit York.

We enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely week in The Sudio whilst visiting family in the area last month.

The property was clean and comfortable and larger than we expected. It's conveniently positioned for York, Castle Howard and The North York Moors, amongst other places. Rose was very friendly and made us feel most welcome. We would recommend.

the owners were very friendly although we saw little of them, welcome package was just a small bottle of milk 2 tea bags and some flowers.

i would say the place could do with updating, particularly the bed which was very uncomfortable,it felt like 2 small mattresses put together, also the very small wardrobe was not big enough,it was more like a cupboard,so a bigger wardrobe is needed.also my wife and i are both age 81 and we found the stairs far to steep,i had to keep an eye on the wife each time she wanted to use them.another handrail would have helped.in my opinion the stairs are not suitable for the aged or infirm, one other thing needed was a light outside the door as its difficult to see the key safe numbers,we had to resort to useing our mobile phone lights.the outside light did not work and we were told that this was an ongoing problem

Everything was fine and comfortable.

The only one thing was the poor performance of the TV. It didn’t inconvenience us too much but anyone staying in the winter with the dark nights might find it a drawback.

Both Rose and her daughter, Becky, couldn’t have been more helpful, and immediately resolved any queries I had.

The accommodation is ideal for dog lovers in an excellent location, and with a safe, secure large garden. My wife and I along with our four legged friend had a most enjoyable and relaxing week with weather to match.

Very accommodating owners who took our booking at very short notice.

The Studio is really nice and comfortable with everything we wanted, a lovely big garden for our chihuahua. We had a brilliant stay as the Studio is well located, giving excellent access to York and the surrounding areas. Thank you.

Absolutely 100% fell in love with the Studio very clean well equipped and a fantastic enclosed garden for the dog.

I would definitely recommend a stay here as a base for exploring the area.Hosts Rose and Colin couldn't do enough for you.

4 star

Wonderful stay .

lovely cottage in rural setting. Close to York

Great cottage and friendly owner.

Very good as a base for a variety of local sights and scenery.

Perfect getaway for me and my wife and the dog, very warm, cosy cottage, 5g area and the WiFi was adequate.

Brilliant, loved the studio.

Lovely little property to stay in and explore the local area.

Very spacious for the two of us and our dog. The enclosed garden gave the security to allow him outside. The property was was clean, well presented, very homely and had everything we needed - a full sized cooker to cook our Christmas dinner. The tea & cake waiting for us on arrival was much appreciated - thank you. Hope to return later this year for a longer visit.

My stay at The Studio was ideal for my solo trip away.

Quiet, clean and private. Easy to travel to all tourist hotspots and the park and ride for York. I looked forward to getting back to a cosy, warm living room after a day out.

The property is ideal for a quiet stay.

Well maintained and private. Would definitely recommend

What a beautiful setting the Studio is in, absolutely perfect for a quiet gettaway for York and the surroouding area!

I could happily live in the Studio for alot longer myself, clean and very comfy. Highly recomend the Park & ride to go into York, no hassel if, i little expensive.

An absolute pleasure to stay here, perfect location to explore, so well thought out for doggy owners, secure garden gated car parking, everything to clean if needed, a wonderfully equipped kitchen and comfortable cottage, beautiful setting, lovely touches with cake an flowers an milk waiting, even apples in the garden will be reccomending to friends and hope to return, many thanks for a lovely break xx

Very clean situated to visit local attractions friendly owner to channels limited a very pleasant stay

IT WAS HOME FROM HOME.

would have liked a bigger television

Lovely stay.

Originally booked for a week but extended for an additional week. The Studio has everything you need for a relaxing stay and the enclosed garden was perfect for my dog who enjoyed the stay as much as me. Very comfortable bed and nice crisp bedsheets. Thank you Rose and sorry I checked out a bit late.

A lovely cottage with a pretty garden, perfect for a relaxing few days spent cycling round the local area.

We found everything clean and comfortable with a lovely outlook and garden.

Very good location for local village, Park & Ride into York. and places of interest. Colin and Rose could not have been more helpful.

Lovely cottage in a great location for visiting Yorkshire and very dog friendly with an enclosed garden and close to country footpaths for walking Cottage had everything needed for a short stay our only complaint would be the shower is quite low due the bathroom being in the loft conversion, wouldn’t be useable for anyone over 6ft Would certainly recommend to family and friends

We stayed at The Studio for 6 weeks between house moves and it was the perfect temporary home.

The Studio had everything we needed and Rose and Colin were very attentive hosts. We will definitely be recommending the cottage to friends and family looking to stay in the area.

Lovely cosy cottage in a quiet location but within 20 minutes of York.

Well appointed throughout lovely secure garden and parking. Lovely owners and Gil the collie .

A lovely place to stay.

We'll located with easy access to York and local amenities. The Studio has everything you need and was clean and comfortable. Lovely owners of the property with a nice touch of fresh flowers, cake, tea bags, and milk waiting for us on arrival. Very highly recommended.

Lovely clean property very well equipped and comfortable.

The enclosed garden for the dog was a bonus as was the friendliness of the host.

The Studio was perfect!

Comfortable, clean and in a beautiful setting with a private garden. Well equipped with everything we needed and the added touch of milk, tea and cake awaiting our arrival was so thoughtful. We are already planning our return! Perfectly placed for York, Scarborough and surrounding areas. Rose was so lovely and helpful. Highly recommend Land of Nod Cottages

The Studio is a comfortable, well equipped property.

It is located close to York city centre which worked well for us. We were welcomed by the owners with some cake, tea bags and milk which was a nice touch. The garden is fairly large however it had the property's water treatment right in the middle of it which did spoil it a bit. The car parking area was gated which meant the car was safe and off of the fairly busy country lane. This property was good value for money and I would recommend it to others with dogs who just want a bolt hole to use whilst visiting York and the surrounding area.

Interior needs updating.

Mismatch of furniture. Not the usual Sykes standard. The Studio is quiet and well situated for touring the area.

Lovely place to stay, thoroughly enjoyed our week here.

Hope to return next year. Thank you

Disappointed as everything was so far away, the nearest shop was 9 miles.

Nothing to do there, should have looked into it more before booking.

Holiday cottage was excellent value for money very clean with everything you need and secure parking, owners very helpful and brilliant large enclosed garden was excellent for the dog, slso gets the sun most of the day, cottage very quiet with great views Very central cottage park and ride for york only 7 mins drive also 2 great pubs very close i would highly recommend, The oddfellows and the Gold Cup Inn, food at both home cooked and excellent.

Unfortunately our car broke down and had to go to a garage to get repaired, the owners of cottage where we were staying were very helpful in offering assistance for shopping if needed.

We managed to get a courtesy car after a couple of days, as this cottage’s does require having your own car to get about the area

A pleasant stay.

Well situated for York and for the North York Moors. Felt safe and secure with everything Covid related at the Studio. A warm welcome from the friendly owners too!

What a beautiful little place this is set in the country side Fresh flowers milk and cake all waiting on our arrival such a lovely gesture the owner rose even came to see if we had settled in ok and had a little chat with us We had a walk into Stamford bridge and walked around the river and along the viaduct Also going into York was so stress free park and ride was so simple to do York was amazing such a beautiful place We will definitely be returning and staying in the land of nod again Thank you to rose and Colin Excellent service

Peace and quiet, good garden for the dog to run around in and fully enclosed

Excellent cottage credit to the owners we will try and Go back one day very enjoyable stay lovely weather helped

Excellent cottage, very central for York and surrounding area's.

Garden and paddock perfect for dogs. Owners very helpful and cottage very clean, has everything you need. Some great pubs with excellent foid within 1.5 miles. 2nd stay hear and already booked again for July as prices very good indeed.

Small but very comfortable cosy cottage with a lovely private garden.

Although adjacent to the road, it was pretty quiet and occupies a lovely rural setting with delightful views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (in spite of the cool and wet May weather!) and would recommend this cottage very much.

A lovely cosy warm cottage, owners very pleasant and a lovely touch of flowers, cake and milk on arrival

Great little cottage so close to york.

Very clean with everything provided. Excellent garden for dog plus the extra paddock use also. Owners very helpful and friendly. Will def. Return.

A very clean well equipped cottage!

Owner thought of everything to make it like home from home!

just A lovely couple who run this home from home .

Will definitely return x

The “Studio “ far exceeded our expectations, everything is here for you to enjoy a lovely quiet peaceful private Holliday.

The Studio has been very well thought out and well appointed. We are sure you will enjoy every minute if you decide to stay a while . 10/10

After the initial hiccough (the system crashed at the end of the booking resulting in me before by charged twice) everything went very smoothly.

The Studio was a fabulous find -great location for York, a few National Trust properties and walking. It was kitted out with everything you could want plus a fantastic garden (ideal for my dog to chase her ball in). Plus there was cake and milk waiting for us when we arrived!

Comfortable and functional with the long enclosed garden proving useful for a dog.

Owners kindly left basic welcome items to get us off to a good start.

This the second time we've stayed here, excellent secure garden for the dog, lovely cottage with lovely ginger cake left and milk, thoughtful touch.

Stamford Bridge has everything you need for food and drink also free parking. The studio is also in a fab location, not far from many places of interest. Hoping to return for third visit. Pauline, Henry and Winston

The studio was perfect accommodation for a lengthy stay as it had everything needed to make it a home from home.

Easy to get in to York using the park and ride. Stamford bridge has good local amenities.

Very nice note of welcome from Rose with a delicious cake and nice flowers.

There was coffee, tea and fresh milk available. The cottage was extremely clean.

Ideally placed for YORK and the coast.

Private enclosed garden would be ideal for a dog. Hosts Rose and Colin very friendly and helpful and the cakes, milk and flowers were a nice touch.

Mrs Downes and her family were so very helpful to me, I would recommend The Studio to anyone apart from those like me that have difficulty with stairs.

Milk was left in the fridge which was a god send as it was such a hot day when I drove to The Studio that my milk had gone off.

The cottage was warm, the car park was safe and there were extra little touches

Lovely cottage in good location.

Ideal base for touring the area and easy access to park and ride for York. Owner very welcoming, friendly and helpful especially with information about the local area.

Beautiful surroundings, we watched hares and pheasants from the window!

Really great accommodation, and good location.

The welcome flowers and cakes most appreciated. Already booked another visit.

The Studio was a very comfortable base from which we explored York and its surroundings.

There is a convenient Park and Ride service to the city centre not too far away which is to be recommended. We enjoyed some nearby National Trust properties and a day by the sea at Filey. We would certainly be happy to stay at The Studio again in future.

Great location, so quiet yet close enough to a pub for a tipple!

Tidy, clean, and the cake was a massive bonus. Would definitely stay again!

Easy to book, easy to find.

Property was lovely and the garden was great for the dog. A well looked after cottage, the owners daughter was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this cottage.
