Lovely peaceful rural location yet near enough to Ashbourne and other Derbyshire towns.

Very good property, clean & well kept! Granddaughter absolutely LOVED all the animals!! Cottage owners very friendly and approachable too.

We had a lovely stay at Dover Barn, our children loved seeing the animals on the farm.

There was a slight issue with the hot water but our hosts quickly fixed this and were really helpful. Great location, clean, comfortable and peaceful, would highly recommend.

The accommodation was everything we needed and nice and warm. The beds were very comfortable. Perfect location for so many activities. We loved being able to feed the goats and donkeys which absolutely made our daughters holiday seeing them everyday. Thank you!

The cottage fully met the description.

It was a really lovely place to stay, felt very much like a home away from home. Having all the farm animals around was lovely too. Very close to a lot of amenities but still felt very country living. There was plenty of parking available. The recycling and general bins were very clearly labelled and easy to find. The handy info on the door was also useful for fuel, eating out, etc. The beds were very comfy and cosy. The living room had plenty of entertainment and a very cosy feel to it. The kitchen appliances were easy to use and there was plenty equipment in the cupboards for all needs. We had a great time and would definetly recommend Dover Barn to others!

Our second visit to Dover Barn and hope to come again.

A well equipped and comfortable holiday home with lots of places nearby to visit. The local pub does delicious food which we would recommend. The goats and donkeys are a bonus. Another lovely break in a beautiful part of the country.

This was our second visit to the accommodation at Whitecliffe Farm.

The accommodation and it's contents were perfect for our needs as a family of 3 generations with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. My daughter loved visiting the donkeys, goats and horse every afternoon and I was happy that the yard was safe for her to be out on her own. The owners are really helpful and friendly and always happy to help or offer advice if needed. Perfect for visiting Derbyshire.

We had an enjoyable and comfortable stay in a beautiful, quiet spot.

Excellent in all aspects!

If I was to be picky, I would suggest: - A top/flat sheet on each bed, especially in summer, - A blind/curtain on the small window in the smaller bedroom to prevent the early morning light flooding in. But, it was exactly what we were hoping for - a quiet, peaceful stay in the Peak District, with all the amenities! Thank you!

When we arrived Irene and Tom made us very welcome.

Dover Barn was perfect for us. Couldn't fault it. We had a problem with the TV which Tom showed us how to re-boot. The cottage was so clean and comfortable. The setting is idyllic. Just loved seeing the donkeys and goats every day. Loved, loved, this holiday

Just returned from a 2 night stay in Dover Barn.

The barn was far better than we anticipated. Hosts were welcoming but not intrusive. Barn was immaculate, spotlessly clean, well furnished and equipped and in the most idyllic setting. Fresh milk and eggs were left on arrival, which was lovely. Honestly could not fault anything and would recommend 100%. We will definitely be returning.

Dover Barn is in a perfect location.

The cottage is spacious and very well equipped with everything you need (and more) for your stay. It's spotlessly clean and the beds are really comfy. We love the enclosed garden/ patio area at the back which is so peaceful and perfect for watching the sun go down on an evening. This is our 2nd visit to Whitecliffe Farm as its close to the High Peak/Tissington and Monsal cycle/walking routes and central to Bakewell, Ashbourne and Buxton. Another wonderful break and it most definitely won't be our last visit to this beautiful Farm. X

This was our second stay at the cottage - and this was just as enjoyable as the first time!

The weather was also good so we spent a lot of time away walking, or visiting the various attractions, and then able to relax back at base in the evening - and even spend an amusing time with the goats, and donkeys!

Absolutely beautiful farm, beautiful location and beautiful cottage.

The views from the cottage are just stunning. The goats are adorable and really friendly. Inside the cottage was clean, comfy and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. It was my second time staying here and will definitely be back again.

Owners are friendly & helpful. Eggs & milk were a lovely touch. Cottage had everything we needed including games, books & dvds. Have booked our 3rd stay next year.

The wash basin plug requires attention to stop it leaking water around it !

Dover Barn is ideal for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and many other lovely places in the Derbyshire Dales.

We found it very comfortable, well equipped with easy car parking, and the goats and donkeys were a delight. We definitely plan to have another stay there and recommend it highly.

Thomas met us on arrival and showed us around the accommodation. The animals were a delight and we loved feeding the goats and donkeys. Dover Barn was perfect for us and we would have loved to have stayed longer. We will definitely book again soon.

A very well-equipped and quiet cottage; we enjoyed our stay very much.

A good location more or less in the centre of the White Peak, handy for Buxton, Ashbourne, and Bakewell if you need a town.

I think this was our third Christmas stay at the farm but our first in Dover Cottage.

Fantastic location for peace and quiet. Short drive to Ashbourne where there is a good mix of shops,pubs and places to eat. The cottages have everything you need for your stay, very well maintained and the owners are very helpful.

A lovely property with a modern feel and hints of olden days - the beautiful latches on the internal doors was a wonderful touch.

The fresh eggs and pint of milk were a fabulous welcoming gift and the property had everything that we needed. It was a very enjoyable break and we'd happily stay again. My daughter especially enjoyed feeding the donkeys.

Had everything we needed and we were satisfied with how clean and cosy it was. Our girls loved the animals just outside and they were all very friendly. A really well equipped, warm and comfortable cottage in a peaceful rural location.

Ideal for walking with beautiful countryside and villages nearby, also close to the Tissington and High Peak trails for cyclists. Friendly goats and donkeys. It just suited us perfectly.

We've stayed at Dover Barn a few times.

6 eggs & half pint of milk were welcome on arrival. 1 small issue resolved by the owners immediately. Peaceful setting. Pleasant stay. Always nice to see the goats & donkeys at the farm.

We had a lovely week in Devon Barn, the comfort and facilities were of the highest standard and we would definitely like to come back at some time in the future.

Loved Dover Cottage.

Enjoyed all the animals on the farm including the Kestrel that perched on the telegraph pole in the mornings and evenings. Loved sitting out in the evening listening to the sheep in the hills and the cheeky goats in the farm yard. It was all very comfortable and we had every thing we needed.

Idyllic setting for a relaxing holiday.

Irene was very helpful to us. The property is extremely clean and was a perfect place for us to stay with our two young children who loved seeing the animals on the farm. The property is well equipped, ample parking and there are useful contacts / amenities listed in the Barn. A lovely stay.

A great, peaceful location and excellent accommodation. Tom, the owner, was very helpful and pleasant. Friendly goats and donkeys and lovely Lucy the horse. Beautiful Collie dogs. Tom just needs to get another farm cat (or two or more!). Even the local wildlife like the farm. I opened the bedroom curtains just after dawn and saw a hare running by the window. He paused to look at me before going on his way. Magical.

We absolutely loved our break at Dover Barn.

The cottage was comfortable and warm with great facilities. Everything you need in the kitchen. Our children loved seeing and feeding the animals everyday. The location is perfect for Dovedale, Bakewell and Matlock. We also went to Alton towers which is 30 mins away. The owners were friendly and helpful. We had a really lovely few days in Dover Barn.

It was lovely to have a separate sitting room with a Christmas tree, a well equipped kitchen and bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Some treats and a pint of milk were there for our arrival which was very much appreciated. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

Excellent and very comfortable cottage in a peaceful area on a farm with great access to so many great places to visit in Derbyshire.

Visited Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne, Tissington village and lots more loved coming home to see and feed the donkeys and the goats . Chocolate, Bluebell , Lizzie and Annie did enjoy their carrots each day. The best part was the peace ,quiet and so relaxing break.

Everything was great as usual except that we had no internet for 4 days.

Not the owner's fault but it wasn't ideal. We have booked again for next year.

This cottage was perfect for my farm loving 3 year old to go out and see the donkeys, horse, goats and sheep every day.

The cottage itself was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for cooking and playing games to entertain ourselves. A well located cottage for day trips to Alton towers and Matlock, also in easy reach of Buxton and Ashbourne. Would highly recommend.

Super place, compact but very comfortable, Good beds and bedding.

We stayed end Feb 2022 and had a great week, the cottage is well kitted out, warm and quite. Easy parking. Only issue for us was that BT mobile phones did not work, but that made a nice change if honest. Owners were helful and friendly but not intrusive.

Very peaceful location but plenty to see and do in surrounding area, ideal distance from Alton towers.Host lives on site and very friendly, nothing too much trouble.

We found the cottage was beautifully prepared and very well equipped.

Thomas and Irene were lovely and helpful hosts. There was no mobile reception but I was able to use their landlines and must ask my grandson to show me how to use WiFi for calls! A good holiday venue for us as my husband has sight and mobility difficulties.

This is the second time we have stayed at whitecliffe farm.

It has all the facilities you need in a very peaceful and scenic location, only a short drive to the some of the best walking areas and main towns. The owners Thomas and Irene are great, My children loved feeding the donkeys and goats. Overall a great place to stay and one we will certainly go back to.

The cottage was clean and cosy.

Our children loved being able to feed the donkeys and goats (don't forget to bring carrots and apples). We've done lots of cottage breaks over the years and we have to say that this was probably the easiest to drive to of the lot (only a short stretch of single track lane with lots of passing places). It was also really well situated for many day trips within 30 minutes of travel. All in all, it was a lovely stay.

A very quiet location with very welcoming, attentive hosts.

The cottage was comfortable and well appointed with a wonderful back garden area (shared) with patio furniture, picnic bench and bbq stand (disposable bbq required). The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. While being very rural, it is in easy reach of Buxton, Bakewell and Ashbourne with plenty to do in the area.

We have stayed in this cottage on a number of occasions.

It’s an ideal peaceful base for touring the many lovely towns and villages of the Peak District. It’s clean, well equipped and has a large garden to enjoy the views. The upgraded WIFI is an additional bonus. I’d certainly recommend it.

Well furnished ground floor accommodation that is ideal for exploration of the Peak District.

Beautifully situated on a farm with very friendly goats. Good parking and the property is easy to find. Places such as Tissington, Ilam, Dovedale and Carsington water are only minutes away. Polite and friendly hosts who are keen to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. A large lawned area with bench seating at the rear of the property is great for long sunny summer evenings.

A lovely holiday accommodation in a farm setting.

The accommodation was extremely clean, warm and comfortable. Great place to access all the activities the Peak District has to offer together with a lovely outdoor seating area when you return. Enjoyed the farm’s free range eggs for breakfast and feeding the donkeys and goats. Don’t forget to bring apples and carrots for them! Had a great few days away.

We took the children for a weekend break and the cottage was cosy and warm and had everything we needed - including excellent wi-fi!

The goats and donkeys were lots of fun and my children spent a very happy afternoon feeding them. The location is secluded and peaceful whilst also being just a short drive away from lots of wonderful sights and popular walks.

A lovely holiday home and a perfect base for exploring the area.

A bit hard to find when we arrived in the dark - suggest slightly tweaking the instructions - turn off the A515 into lane marked with two circular lorry 7.5 ton weight signs - Dover Barn is part of Whitecliffe Farm, which is the first farm on the right. We will go again.

We really couldn't fault Dover Barn, a really good location, a very nice accommodation with good facilities, friendly hosts, friendly goats and donkeys, a really enjoyable weeks break.

This cottage is beautiful and has everything we needed for a family of 4.

We absolutely loved staying here and it was immaculately clean which in these covid times is important to us. We fed the goats and it had a lovely garden. Perfect for visiting the countryside around, we went to dovedale, Thors cave, Ilam park, Bakewell, buxton and the local pub!

The weather was great, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

The children enjoyed being able roam in the large garden and liked being able to pet and feed the animals. The property was clean,tidy and well equipped. The pint of milk on arrival was most welcome.

Lovely quiet situation but not too far from the main road.

The donkeys and goats on the farm were a joy for my grandaughter. As the weather was not great it was great to have a warm, snug retreat to return to!!

The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Lovely, peacefu,l rural setting. Cottage very well equipped, clean, spacious & comfortable. Laundry room on site, if needed. Excellent local pubs. Good choice of supermarkets in Ashbourne. Endless choice of things to do & see within a few miles.We will definitely return.

Very welcoming host.

Property was spotless. A cot and highchair was provided which was very welcome. Lovely shower. Good to have plenty of items such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, toilet roll, kitchen roll etc as it is very annoying when places only provide the bare minimum! The only complaint was the mattress in the double room was very uncomfortable. Would strongly recommend this property.

Close to places of interest such as Carsington Waters and Doverdale. Had a really peaceful holiday which was much needed. The donkeys and goats were definitely a winner with my 5 year old. Would recommend.

Very clean and comfortable.

Very friendly owners. The facilities were great! Even had a dishwasher and all the little extras that you expect to take yourself eg: washing up liquid and cloth. Salt and pepper, board games, etc. I would highly recommend it. We loved the goats, horses and donkeys right outside our front door and fed them apples and carrots. The outside land is extremely well presented and well maintained. If I had to give it a score out of 10... I’d give it an 11.

This was a very nice cottage, perfect for the two of us.

Parwich was a good centre for all the places we wanted to visit and nowhere was very far away - that includes Buxton, Cromford, and Matlock - the furthest place we visited was Hardwick Hall. The local attractions of the Tissington Trail, the High Peak Trail, Dove Dale, Magpie Lead Mine at Sheldon - all brilliant - and never fail to satisfy. Food Shopping at Matlock and Ashbourne excellent, plus all the various farm shops, cafes, Ilham Park, Eyam, and the High Peak Bookshop. All in all a very good base for travelling around, close to the A515, and friendly locals!

A very comfortable stay in Dover Barn.

Thomas and Irene made us feel very welcome and we're there if we needed anything but left us alone to enjoy our stay. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings yet we were within easy reach of the A515 and many great places to visit and areas for walking. Loved the donkeys (take carrots!) and goats (apples!).

Such a beautiful place in a completely peaceful location, yet close to amazing places to visit.

Alton towers was a short drive away as was Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock. Ashbourne too was also a bit of a surprise, a lovely little village and one I will be visiting again. I loved being able to sit back and relax with a glass of wine in the barn and really enjoyed feeding the donkeys and goats that were so friendly. I’ll definitely be back again.

Dover Barn is comfortable, clean and well equipped.

It is on a farm, so very quiet, surrounded by fields and situated just outside the village of Parwich. There were two rooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles, perfect for our party of two adults and two children. There are donkeys and goats on the farm and we could feed them carrots! Dover Barn is perfectly placed between Ashbourne and Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District. Our hosts were lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. We would definitely book again.

We had a fantastic holiday staying in Dover Barn.

Perfect for families like ours with a toddler, there’s a large enclosed garden for running about in. The farm’s donkeys & goats were our little boys favourite part of the holiday! The cottage has all the home comforts needed with a lovely traditional farm cottage feel. The owners are friendly & helpful. It’s a great base for visiting places - we had days out to Matlock Bath, Bakewell, CBeebies Land, Buxton and The Derwent Dams. We’ll be coming back next year!!

Dover Barn is a lovely property.

Set in a wonderfully peaceful location. The barn itself was very clean and comfortable. It had a well equipped kitchen with everything you would expect and more. The household bits that we took expecting to use (as we have done in other properties) stayed in the car. You could sit both in front and at the back of the property taking advantage of the sun in both the morning and evening. There was a nice well kept, secure large lawn area. The pub at Parwich served lovely meals.

It is in a peaceful location yet within easy reach of the many attractions the Peak District has to offer. The Tissington trail is a mile away and is an easy bike ride from the property. This was our second stay at Dover Barn and we had a very enjoyable time.

Lovely cottage and although we didn't see much of the owners, what little we did see, they were very friendly people.

Initially the cottage was a little difficult to find but was very well situated between Buxton and Ashbourne and with a wonderful pub in Parwich village just down the road. The Sycamore Inn was very welcoming and the food was excellent. Everything in the cottage was of good quality and it was well equipped and clean. We were there over New Year and it was always nice and warm no matter what time of the day it was. We will definitely return when the weather is a bit warmer and drier. So handy for the Tissington and High Peak trails.

A very enjoyable holiday in a comfortable cottage. We had a great time. Lovely location, friendly owner, spotlessly clean with everything that we could wish for. Our granddaughter, Holly, loved feeding the owner's donkeys with carrots and was very happy to meet their black cat, George. Our second year at a Sykes cottage, and we would recommend both Sykes and Dover Barn to all our friends and family. Thanks for a great holiday!
