The Boat House

What’s to love: From fishnet to table, The Boat House serves arguably the freshest seafood on Cornwall’s North Coast. The restaurant began life as a pop-up eatery serving just-caught fish direct from the deck of fishing boats, before its popularity led to the creation of a permanent restaurant. The Boat House serves simple seafood within a stone’s throw of Newquay harbour, and even has its own saltwater lobster lagoon – perfect for couples looking for a fun yet romantic dining experience.

Reputed to be Newquay’s oldest restaurant, The Dolphin has done a good job of keeping up with the town’s changing culinary landscape over the years, and today serves an eclectic mix of line-caught seafood and meat dishes fresh from local farms. If you normally approach traditional restaurants with trepidation, don’t – The Dolphin Bar & Restaurant can still hold its own against Newquay’s young guns, and it has the five-star Tripadvisor ratings to prove it.

What’s to love: This authentic Mexican restaurant specialises in cooking colourful, vibrant dishes from scratch. Sizzling fajitas and spicy Burritos are just a few of the dishes on offer at Señor Dicks, each served as hot or mild as you’d like. Their tequila-based cocktails are also particularly good, and the restaurant’s bar is a nice place to relax after your meal.

The Stable

What’s to love: Although there are several Stable eateries operating across the West Country, the Fistral Beach version is the brand’s crown jewel. Set above Fistral Beach, The Stable offers top-notch food accompanied by some of the best views on the North Cornish coast. The restaurant was founded by an ordinary bloke called Rich, who took his passionate and respect for local produce and created The Stable chain. The menu is a mix of pizza and pie with a creative, West Country twist, as well as some of the region’s freshest, most scrumptious cider – be sure to book.
