"We had a lovely stay in this property."
It was very comfortable, clean, cosy, well equipped and felt loved. The weather was a challenge at times so we didn’t get to use the nice outside spaces as we’d hoped but these would be good in drier warmer weather. The heating kept the upstairs warm and comfortable, although this did make the downstairs bedroom feel much cooler. This was a great base for travelling out for day trips in every direction. Only minor negative observations were that it was really tricky for everyone to leave their outside shoes by the front door and also be able to open the coat cupboard as it was a fight for same space, one double bedroom might also be better for families with twin beds instead of another double and it was unusual not to have use of the washing machine in a let of this size. The 9am check out time was also too early for us to manage with a disabled family member so we had to leave late Thursday night instead. Overall we really enjoyed our lovely stay in a lovely property!
Many thanks for your comments and we are glad you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

"Was a lovely house but the downstairs bedroom smelt of mould."
Settees are a bit saggy but clean. Probably best enjoyed in the summer when the damp wouldn't be noticed. We found the stairs hard going when we arrived and left with luggage etc but younger people wouldn't have had any problem.
Thank you for your comments and feedback. Firstly the smell of mould we don't understand as we could not smell it ourselves. We asked a very good friend of ours who has a nose for everything and she could not smell any mould or damp as you suggested. Not satisfied we asked a close relation and they agreed they could not smell anything. Only thing I can think of is damp towels in the shower room. Our recent guests have not mentioned anything. Settees are individually sprung and of good quality but we cannot meet everyone's choice of comfort as some prefer a hard settee and some a soft settee. The stairs we can't really do anything about as you have to get up and down from the ground floor to the first floor. The fact that it is an upside down house is not to all peoples taste but all the living accommodation is on one floor and at the end of the day when you are tired you can go downstairs to bed. "Very comfortable house."
Maybe an over bath shower in upstairs bathroom would be an asset. We had an enjoyable stay.
Thank you for your comments and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Yes we would love to have a shower in that bathroom but with the taps being close to the window we feel it will cause us a few problems. We have priced up turning the bath around and having a proper bath/shower and we may consider this in the future. Property Owner

"As part of the generation that never uses a dishwasher we found the sink arrangement back to front which we did discuss with the owners but no big deal if you use the dishwasher."
Ideal location for visiting nearby attractions. Will come again.
Thanks for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

"The house (henbury hide) we stayed in was the best holiday cottage we have ever had."
. it was very clean and included a very well equipped and large kitchen. 2 large bedrooms (1 with en suite) large lounge very comfortable and a sun/reading room. the garden was a delight with a large sun deck with glass balustrading we ate outside all week.a delightful house well situated we will definitely return if we are in the area again.
Thank you for your wonderful comments. You had a wonderful week weather wise. It would be lovely to welcome you again and thank you so much for your feedback. Property Owner

Thank you Alan & Gisele.
Thank you for your comments, and we hope to see you again. Property Owner

"First class property but a shower over bath would be a bonus, also the ceiling lights in living room too low as if your are 6 feet or over you hit your head on them."
-
"This is our second visit to Henbury Hide, we have no doubt that there will soon be a third."
Superbly decorated throughout, well equipped, comfortable and clean, lots of little touches. Great base to explore the surrounding areas. Gisele and Alan were superb hosts very friendly and accommodating. Lovely private garden with decking to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening. Would highly recommend a stay in Henbury Hide.
Glad you enjoyed your stay once again. Many thanks and hope we see you again soon. Property Owner

"Comfortable holiday home with everything we needed."
Lovely garden too. Directions to the property were really easy to follow. Met the owners towards the end and found them really pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend Henbury Hide for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

"Excellent property."
High quality furnishings and fittings, probably because it was originally the owner's home. Owner very efficient in providing lighter weight duvet when requested. Lovely deck area for morning sunshine. Good location for days out although it is on a housing estate in a dormitory village to Bournemouth / Poole rather than a picturesque village. Two Co-ops and a garage but no other shops nearby. TV is free view only so, to watch catch-up TV, need to take own laptop. Odd house rules such as not being allowed to recharge mobile phones overnight!
Thank you for your wonderful comments and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. There have been a number if reports in the press of phone chargers catching fire overnight, here is just one case https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/news/warning-after-phone-charger-fire/ We don't obviously have any contol what chargers guests bring into the property but there is a greater risk of fire when guests utilise third party cables and chargers rather than the manufacturers originals. This is the reason we have the polite request. The TV is a smart TV and connected to the internet, but we will have to look into what catchup channels are available. It may be worth us purchasing a NOW or Amazon stick which would allow all the channels, so thanks for raising this. Once again thank you for your comments and your rating. Hope we see you again sometime in the future. Property Owner

"We found that the sofas in the living room were very uncomfortable with little support on the seats."
Owners kept popping around, felt a bit uncomfortable.
We are really sorry and very surprised you did not found the sofa comfortable and to say it had little support. We obviously can’t provide a sofa which will be comfortable for everyone. The sofas are of very high quality and top quality fabric and the sofa is sprung as well as the cushions. We always like to call on our guests not only to meet and greet but also to make sure everything is ok. In October we had a very severe storm which we suspected had done some damage to property. I think an assessor inspected the property while you were staying. I remember on another occasion I visited to tell you there was no need for you to leave by 9 am on the Friday. I hope you agree the garden is kept up together and obviously windows need to be kept clean as well as facias etc. These activities we try to perform while gusts are out but sometimes, especially with the gardener this is not always possible. We are really sorry that our popping around made you feel uncomfortable, but we do try to maintain the property to a very high standard. Property Owner

"We chose Henbury Hide to celebrate our Golden Wedding as we started our married life in the area, we were not disappointed in our choice."
We had lovely weather and were able to get out and about to where we wanted to go, we even got in some sunbathing in the back garden! The Hide is so well equipped and there was a lovely personal touch with toiletries, tea and coffee etc. The only problem we had was the steepness of the drive as my husband has a slight disability which causes him to be off balance, this is not a criticism however. We highly recommend this property. Gwyneth and Roy Spittle

"We stayed in the same property last year, knowing it would be clean, comfortable and well equipped."
It's also well placed to explore that part of Dorset.
-
"We had a lovely time here."
The location was superb and a lovely spacious house and garden. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in this area.
-
"This is undoubtedly one of the best holiday homes I've ever stayed in."
Everything was immaculate and my sister in law and I were really comfortable here. Alan and Gisele are excellent hosts and did everything they could to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. This is a suitable choice for mature guests who will appreciate that this is a home from home and not a holiday home and will therefore treat it with the respect it deserves. As the accommodation offers two double bedded rooms with an additional sofa bed in the second living room if required, it is more suited to adults than to young children. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend Henbury Hide to other guests.

"The house made a perfect base for a holiday in Dorset."
It is a beautiful part of the country with lots to do within a 30 minute drive. It's well fitted out and equipped with everything you would need. Unlike a lot of holiday rentals we have stayed in, there is sufficient crockery to be able to run the dishwasher when it is full. We would certainly return to this house if we wanted to holiday in the area again.
-
"Warm, clean, comfortable and in a quiet location, this house was a treat to come back to during our damp and windy October stay."
We found it a really convenient location for exploring Dorset. We plan to return and look forward to breakfast on the decking looking out on the lovely garden.

"Henbury Hide is a very comfortable, clean well equiped home from home."
The owner was very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend this holiday let.
-
"Everything was very clean & the kitchen was well equipped although the knives needed sharpening."
An over the bath shower was all that was lacking. Overall a very good stay despite the weather!! We've used Sykes several times before & will definitely use them again.
-
"A great base for Dorset attractions, this house was clean, comfortable and well equipped."
A garden for the grandchildren, a beatiful decked dining/drinking area, and being close to shops and pubs made this an easy option for us and it didn't dissapoint.
-
"The house was comfortable to stay in and kids enjoyed the garden."
It’s a good base to travel and visit places in Dorset. Would have liked two showers but not a big problem. We will definitely come again.
-
"A lovely property within striking distance of lots of great places to visit in Dorset - the pictures don’t do it justice!"
It was comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. It had a gorgeous large patio area for outside dining and garden space for the kids to run around in. Would definitely recommend this property.
-
"Conveniently situated, fully equipped lovely house , easy to find, good parking and very comfortable for a family get together."
-
"This is a lovely property, very comfortable, and very well equipped."
It is an excellent location for the country or coast, and has enough shops close by for basic provisions. It is very quiet, with ample room and a lovely garden. Owners are very welcoming. Will probably stay again

"The owners of this property had gone way above and beyond my expectations - I was tasked with making some cakes whilst I was at Henbury Hide; took every utensil I needed with me - there was no need there were scales, mixer, bowls, measuring spoons in fact everything I needed - it was amazing!"
The whole house was beautifully dressed and there was not one thing missing that I needed. The beds were very comfy, the lounge was very stylish and comfy and the picture of the garden on your website did not do it justice. If I was to visit this area again I would have no hesitation in booking Henbury Hide. Well done - five stars!
-
"Owners kept in touch to make sure that we had everything that we needed."
Came and visited to make sure that everything was ok. Really great holiday made even better by the weather meaning we could get on the beach almost every day. Will definitely return at some point when we want to holiday in the area again.
-
"Great chat with the owners on first day, super outside space all very clean and nothing lacking, would book again"

-
"Very clean and comfortable."
Delightful hosts.
-
"Roomy cottage, well equipped."
Home made loaf provided on arrival, nice touch. Hot upstairs, but we did go on the hottest week of the year. Nice garden patio to eat out.
-
"A nice comfortable home in a quiet location with all mod cons."
Centrally located for visiting local attractions.
-
"Very relaxed, all mod cons, comfortable clean, centrally positioned to visit Dorset, would recommend."

"We had an excellent stay at Henbury Hide."
A home away from home, the owners are extremely kind and welcoming and provided everything you could need during the stay, and were on call if we needed anything. The house is very comfortable, fully equipped and suitable for children (even provided books for our son and put on their lovely Christmas lights for him to enjoy!) I would thoroughly recommend staying here!

"We had a wonderful two weeks holiday staying at Henbury Hide!"
The owners were extremely welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The house is immaculate and has absolutely everything you could need. The garden is a beautiful place to sit, sunbathe and relax. The area is very quiet but extremely well positioned to access the many activities, places of interest that Dorset has to offer; as well as the local shops. We didn't want to leave and would certainly recommend Henbury Hide- it is one of the nicest places we have stayed. We left a very happy, relaxed family- Thank you to the owners for everything!
