"Very well resourced cottage that really felt like home for the 4 nights we were there."
-
"Great cottage in a perfect location for exploring the moors, the coast and inland if you wish."
The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and dog friendly with walks from the door. Our host was very quick to fix a minor issue with the bath tap. The pub next door is friendly, has a good selection of beers and wines and there was no discernible noise coming from it. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would gladly return should our travels take us back to North Yorkshire.

"We had a lovely week stay at Corner Cottage."
It is only a few minutes drive from Pickering for stopping up supplies and was central to some of the places we wanted to visit. The property and the gardens were very well presented and even had some bird food for the garden feeders and some doggie biscuits supplied by the owners. Just one issue was the shower which went from hot to cold every minute or so.....had to be ready to step away!!!!
-
"Could not get the shower to maintain a constant heat setting and parts of the downstairs require a little tender care."
-
"Excellent cottage everything you need wonderful location for walking and getting to local places of interest"
-
"Lovely cottage close to the pub and amenities."
Great base for exploring the area.
-
"This was our fourth stay at Corner Cottage and this time we were joined by our daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter."
The cottage gave us everything we were looking for in our holiday and is ideally placed for visits in the North York Moors and coast. Having the New Inn next door meant not having to drive when dining out in the evenings.

"A gorgeous cottage in a pretty Yorkshire village."
Great walks from the doorstep. A fabulous selection of fruit trees in the back garden, which this year we missed, as the apples had ripened early. Still lovely plums to enjoy. The deckchairs were enjoyed on sunny days. A good pub on the doorstep, but no disturbances from that, and several other good pubs for dinner nearby. More spacious than the cottage looks from the photo. Only improvements could be bigger sinks in the bathrooms, and a bit more hot water pressure in the bathtub. The outside paintwork may need attention in the near future. All in all, we had a lovely comfortable week (which went too quickly!) and we look forward to returning again soon.
-
"Beautiful, comfortable cottage with plenty of space for us."
It had everything we required for the week. The gardens were gorgeous, so well kept and stunning with the flowers at the front and fruits at the back. Great walks from the doorstep, and loads of places to visit nearby, from the villages with the drives across the stunning moors to the seaside resorts- particularly loved Robin Hood Bay and Sandsend and crabbing at Whitby. We’d love to return. Our dog was comfortable too, outside tap, nice secure back garden, and the utility area was a great place for him to chill/dry off when needed. He slept in the kitchen area (it would have been useful if dining room door closed a little easier but very minor point!). And we just used the clothes airer to prevent him going upstairs! The utility area was plenty big enough for our bikes too. And the pub next door was welcoming and friendly. Thank you, great cottage and location.

"Lovely old cottage , difficult to arrange a bathroom in it , it felt a bit strange."
Garden was perfect for our puppy it was well thought out by the owners, could do with a child gate for the stairs as our 7 month old puppy is very energetic. But we had a great stay, loved the village, pub and surrounding countryside.
-
"Overall the property was superb, ideally situated for visiting the local area and especially the New Inn at Cropton."
The well equipped cottage was warm and cosy and provided a peaceful rest. Seat pads on the dining chairs would be an added bonus but not important enough for us not to return ❤️
-
"Very clean and warm, excellent property for a family."
Listing needs to state low door ways into sitting room and kitchen. Could have done with a larger table in the dining room.
-
"Cottage is lovely, warm and cosy (we arrived in snow), it's nicely furnished, with comfortable sofas and a lovely log burner for the cooler evenings."
Also has has extremely comfortable beds, a great shower (and bath of course) and is very well equipped, had everything we could possibly have needed. Appreciated all the games and although we dint have young children with us they would also be very well catered for. The cottage is in an excellent location for walks from the door , good pub food at the friendly New Inn next door (no noise or disruption whatsoever) and Pickering only a few miles away for supermarket top-up! In summary, we had a lovely stay and will definitely return.

"A beautiful cottage everything about it was just right"
-
"It's our second visit in six months, such a beautiful cottage, always clean and comfy, and looks amazing."
Right next a good pub but on the edge of the countryside. Love it.
-
"It was a lovely stay in a loved ,warm, cosy cottage."
The cooking equipment was abundant and the village lovely. Some great walks straight from the door with nice pub next door. I would love to see the garden in full bloom as it looked lovely in the depths of winter. .Shower cubicle a little bit of a challenge , but plenty of hot water for a lovely bath. A great stay to explore the area. Good communicating with owner for the key. Thanks

"We've stayed in many holiday cottages, but Corner Cottage managed to pip the lot at the post; looks beautiful, feels much larger than it is, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the roll top bath sumptuous, three gardens, and tons of fruit trees we were invited to have as much of as we liked."
I really fell in love with the place. It's right next to a good pub (no noise from there), though it's well worth going to The Middleton Arms up the road for the best beer and food (especially if gluten free or vegan). It's situated perfectly for trips out to Whitby, York and the coast. Oh yes, and there was a ton of wood free to use in the wood burners. Also, this was the first time out dog didn't ask to go home all the time, she loved it as well. We're definitely going back.

"Lovely cottage in a great location."
Very well equipped and enclosed back garden was perfect for my escape artist dog! The only thing which could improve it would be the provision of towels but it does clearly state on the description that towels are not provided. Would definitely recommend and re visit

"Excellent location, lovely cottage, extremely clean & loads of facilities."
Enclosed garden for dog.
-
"Lovely cottage with picturesque garden."
Only fault I could find as two women staying was the lack of blind on kitchen window.
-
"This was our 2nd stay at this cottage so we knew how good it was."
-
"The owners are very considerate about customers' comfort."
The kitchen is extremely well-equipped. We enjoyed very much sitting in the beautiful garden and exploring the lovely countryside around Cropton.
-
"Lovely cottage - we would happily stay again."
Owner friendly & helpful beforehand. Well maintained, cosy, & characterful cottage, great to have the extra space downstairs and the back lobby was ideal for muddy boots & muddier dog! Ideal location for visiting the National Park and the pub next door handy for dinner or just a pint.

"Great for dogs with secure garden and area to wipe them down after muddy walk."
The garden would be great to sit in during the warmer months with seating available. Next door to dog friendly pub. Plenty of walks from cottage for our 6 month old puppy. Very well equipped with the Added bonus of washing machine.
-
"Thought it was a detached cottage ' , not stated in broucher"
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Corner cottage."
Comfy bed, comfy sofa in lounge and kitchen well supplied. Lovely garden too in front and back - pity the weather didn’t allow us much time to spend in them though we did pick some fruit! Cottage was well located in terms of the abbeys we wanted to visit and also very close to a pub so we didn’t have to drive out to eat/drink. We would be happy to stay there again.
-
"The cottage is well equipped and comfy - it’s also in the ideal location to explore a lot of the surrounding area, whilst having the benefit of being set in the country."
It also has the added bonus of being very close to the New Inn (very friendly staff and good real ale and food).
-
"Very photogenic cottage with beautiful garden."
Many stunning villages in the area with good pubs/food. Great steam train ride from Pickering to Whitby. Lots of local markets, independent shops and a multitude of teashops and fish and chip establishments! Easy access to coastline for children or serious walkers. Miles of open moorland, deep forests, waterfalls etc. Highly recommended accommodation and location.
-
"Great well equipped cottage, clean and comfortable."
Lovely garden, good location. Plenty to do and see in the area, good walks. Good pub on the doorstep and plenty of places to eat locally. Would definitely book again and recommend.
-
"Corner Cottage is very comfortable and in a lovely setting."
The cottage is very well equipped and an ideal base for visiting attractions in the area. Both front and rear gardens and well kept and ideal for sitting out in. Cropton is a lovely well kept village with charming houses, a village church and the New Inn next door to the cottage.
-
"Cottage very enchanting with lovely gardens and nice views across the village."
Ideal for local walking to nearby villages Very good amenities Would re-visit the cottage and Cropton
-
"The cottage is a real treat to stay in and with a dog is superb with the boot store which is ideal for wet muddy friends and boots."
The accommodation is well laid out and was warm and cozy. We didn’t need the log burners as the heating was more than efficient. The kitchen had everything that could be thought of for making dinners. The extra en-suite toilet and sink is most useful. The owners have made sure that the cottage feels like a home not just a holiday cottage. The locality with walks from the door is great and also to have The New Inn a stones throw away made for a lovely evening pint from their micro brewery.
-
"Corner Cottage was lovely, very comfortable and cosy."
A bit higgledy piggeldy but that is what you can expect from a cottage of that age. It was so lovely that we want to book again later this year.
-
"Have stayed at this cottage before but the addition of WiFi is very welcome as it meant we could stay in touch with family as there is no cell reception unless you walk quite a way down a track."
-
"Beautiful cosy cottage with two wonderful log burners which were made good use of."
Having the WiFi was a real bonus which worked brilliantly. Situated in a lovely spot next to a micro brewery pub which serves good food and drink. Very well equipped cottage with everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay and all the information prior to our arrival. Kind regards Debbie
-
"This lovely homely cottage was an ideal base for our holiday , spotlessly clean and well equipped for cosy nights in ."
The pub across the lane was a bonus and the Gardens were kept in good order , the overall feeling was of having had a real relaxing holiday in a most beautiful setting

"My wife who is of very slight build, with a slight disability and therefore susceptible to balance problems, was initially somewhat perturbed to read the feedback with regard to the stairs of this property being difficult to negotiate."
On arrival however, we were delighted to find that all was well for her. They are essentially nothing more than "old cottage" stairs, fairly steep and with a shorter flat section on which to place one's feet, but she found no trouble using them. The thing she DID find difficult however, was the small path running from the car parking space to the front door which is uneven and for her, a little troublesome. It forms part of the character of the place however, and we wouldn't expect it to be changed. Make no mistake about it though, this semi detached Grade 2 listed building is essentially a delightfully quaint and attractive little place to relax. It is also one of the best equipped cottages in which we have ever stayed, we could find no fault with anything. Everything and more was there in plenty. It was let down by only one aspect, the cooker is absolutely filthy! An attempt to use the oven on the first night resulted in the whole place ending up stinking, and the food we prepared was thrown away because it tasted of burned on grease. No second attempts there then...…. we stuck to the microwave thereafter ….. but some attention required please as a matter of urgency! Eating out is thirty yards next door at the wonderful pub, "The New Inn", where the food is excellent, but from where there is never any disturbance. A delightful country pub welcome awaits all. Would we return? Most certainly, and we will! Quiet enough to feel remote, but near enough to civilisation in Pickering which is a mere three miles away thus offering the best of everything! Book with confidence, a cracking, comfortable little cottage well worth a visit.

"Cottage is lovely and very well equipped."
Garden is bigger than we expected and safe for the children and dog. Pub is very handy and family and pet friendly. There’s lots to do and see all within less than an hour’s drive. We will be back!
-
"This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful location."
It was very well kitted out & it was the first time we have rented a cottage where everything was working. Our only point would be the live & dead sparrows in the log burners & perhaps some wardrobes to hang your clothes up instead of the coat stands. We had to let some sparrows out of the log burners & dispose of the dead ones before we could light them. We would love to come back to this cottage. Kind Regards, Dave, Sue & Barney (Woof).

"Everything, but also veryfriendly accommodating hosts"

"Lovely area quiet cottage beautiful"
-
"Lovely cosy cottage."
Well equipped with all you could need. Great location next to an excellent pub. The enclosed rear garden was well maintained and perfect for our dog to explore. The rear entrance to the cottage and lobby area are great for muddy boots and wet dogs.
-
"Cottage very cold when we arrived although once we lit the stoves it soon warmed up."
Details regarding bathrooms were misleading. They say en-suite but in fact there is only a toilet and HAND basin which is too small to get washed and shaved in. It does say toilet and basin in the details but en-suite does imply a shower. The basin in the downstairs bathroom is also just a HAND basin again too small for a wash and shave. As we were two couples we had wanted two bathrooms. The only other complaint is that it does not say that the stairs are not suitable for someone with restricted mobility which I have and therefore would not have booked this particular cottage.
