"The Byre is an attractive cottage, one bedroom only and yet spacious."
Clean and well-equipped, it is located on a farm where peacocks parade,in quiet, pleasant countryside 4 miles out of Abergavenny, a good centre for visiting the Three Castles, the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean and the Blaenavon World Heritage Site, Foodies will find plenty of opportunities close by, with the famous Walnut Tree nearest.

"Lovely property with accurate listing of facilities and true to the pictures taken."
Kitty was kind and available if needed to sort any problems. Well equipped and comfortable property especially if you like cooking. Quiet location in the countryside. I specifically choose this property to support a family working farm and I enjoyed seeing glimpses of the action. I would highly recommend this property.

"The Byre is an extremely comfortable cottage for 2 people."
The location, 15 minute drive outside Abergavenny, is ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside and towns of this part of South Wales. The description on the website needs updating to include the small freezer in the utility room and the second TV in the bedroom. Both make The Byre an even more attractive proposition. If we were to return to this part of Wales we would have no hesitation in staying here.

"What a gem!"
The cottage was very comfortable and every eventuality was thought of. Nice and private, but we knew if we had any queries there was always someone to ask - we didn't need to though, as everything was provided. The farm where the cottage was located was very interesting with peacocks and small dogs (very friendly) to greet you every time you arrived "home". Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explore this interesting part of Wales, or do some serious walking. As we said in the visitor's book 10 out of 10. Peter McCaffrey
Thank you we’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully we will see you again soon Kitty Property Owner

"The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable."
We did not see or speak to the owners at all whilst we were there, which was a little diasappointing: but they live very nearby. A lovely vase of flowers, and a selection of delicious goodies were kindly left in the kitchen area. The bed was really comfortable, and all the furniture and equipment were of a high standard. The surrounding area is beautiful - great for walkers when the weather is good. The Skirrid is only a mile away, and is well worth climbing, as the views from it are fantastic. There are peahens and at least one peacock wandering around outside The Byre, which was a treat! Parking was easy, and convenient. The town of Abergavenny is only a few miles away, and there is Morrison's , Aldi's and Tesco's there. There is a restaurant and a tearoom very nearby. The directions for getting there were very helpful and easy to follow.

"The Byre was a perfect haven for us and gave us much-needed breathing space; moving house to rented (a gap of 11 days)."
It is the most spacious and well-appointed holiday rental we have ever stayed in. The very quiet location means it is a great place to chill. We enjoyed many local walks. The owner and family were very helpful even though they were very busy. A friendly, relaxing stay. Thoroughly recommend.

"Very nice holiday home, well equipped, but Mind your head on corner of cooker extractor fan, if you are tall."
Lots of nice walks close by.We were a bit restricted because of covid, it was fine as we stayed more local, But under normal circumstances, it was the perfect holiday destination. Kitty, Tim, and their son were friendly and helpful.

"Beautiful spot for exploring Brecons and surrounds."
Abergavenny is a super town with good eateries. The cottage was cosy and comfortable. but kitchen wasn’t very clean. No one there to greet us and had we not gone to ask for loo rolls on the first evening I am not sure if we would have seen our hosts at all. Which suits us in many ways. I bought eggs from the farm . Hosts then were very friendly and chatty . We could go anywhere on the farm and see the ponies bred there. Resident dogs were lovely but not when barking during the night around our cottage where they had free range. It did give us a dog fix having left our crew behind. Not much info in the welcome book. One restaurant recommended hasn’t done food for 8 years! But we found the walks we wanted any way and pubs to eat in. A very enjoyable restful quiet break.

"We had a lovely stay at the Byre."
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and very clean, with underfloor heating throughout. When we arrived the owners had left a cake for us and milk in the fridge, which was really thoughtful. The cottage had everything we needed for the week including a dishwasher, washing machine & drier, microwave, toaster and so on. The location was perfect and so relaxing. We loved the fact that the cottage is on a working farm & we were surrounded by fields of sheep, cows and horses. The owners were really friendly and welcoming & we would definitely recommend The Byre to friends and family and would love to stay there again.

"Very comfortable accommodation in this beautiful part of the Brecon Beacons National Park."
Animals and family nearby to help in anything you might want, but totally unobtrusive. Wide choice of places of interest to go. But for me the local walks, peace, fresh air, and tranquillity hit the spot.

"The whole process of booking this break was a joy."
Sykes do things properly; I was kept informed, the technology all worked and the whole booking experience was easy. The Byre's is a lovely cottage and the rural setting is great. We booked because we needed a base for our booking at the Walnut Tree Inn. Our expectations were exceeded as the Byre is so spacious, welcoming, cosy and well-equipped that we'd come back again to have a proper holiday in the area. A delightful experience all round; thank you!
