  • "We had a lovely holiday at The Grange everything needed for a comfortable stay is provided and it is in a perfect position, a short walking distance away from Little Haven and Broad Haven where there is a good selection of pubs, cafes and grocery store,."

There is also good access to the coastal path and two large beaches and many more a short drive away. We particularly enjoyed walking to Newgale Sands and visiting St David’s, Tenby and Saundersfoot. The house itself was a very spacious with a huge kitchen diner and two sitting rooms. There are a good selection of board games, books and dvds in the sitting rooms. Upstairs are two nice bedrooms also of a good size with comfortable beds and great views of the local countryside. The upstairs bathroom does not have a shower which we would have preferred but as there is a shower in the bathroom downstairs this was not a problem. Downstairs down a long corridor is an additional bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower. Everything was very clean inside but the bedroom window unfortunately faced the next door neighbours wall which was covered in cobwebs and the window was dirty also, probably because there was no access to it without going onto next doors property. This bedroom also had a slight damp smell to it. We felt that because of this the bedroom was not very inviting. This was not a problem to us as we did not need to use this room. The house was a good price as it was out of season. The outside area around the side entrance would also benefit from a bit of a clean as lots of cobwebs making it less welcoming on arrival. Overall we were very happy staying here and would definitely recommend for families as there is so much space, comfortable beds, outdoor space for children to play and plenty of parking space.

  • "Oh dear - what a disappointment."

The property has deteriorated since our last visit. The lounge hadn’t been cleaned. The double bed squeaked badly. The downstairs bedroom window was so filthy outside you wouldn’t want to open it. The garden was a mess - table and chairs dirty. Under the bath hadn’t been cleaned. Still loved the position between the two beaches and the spacious kitchen and second lounge. Just needs love - a deep clean and decorate before we would book again. Sorry - have to be honest.

Beautiful cottage very well equipped, clean warm and comfortable. Beds and pillows were very comfortable . Kitchen had everything you could possibly need on holiday. As a bonus there was a sea view from one of the upstairs bedroom window.

  • "We stayed at The Grange in 2015."

This time we felt that it needed a spruce up eg rust on radiators, kitchen chairs knocked and scraped, an old gas range. The grass was supposed to be cut regularly. We were there for 2 weeks and it got very long. There was dog poo on the lawn which we would have seen if the grass had been cut. The welcome pack was stingy compared to what we usually get on arrival. We rent 4 times a year so know what we usually get - just sachets of tea/coffee, couple biscuits here. There's always a small fresh milk and a bottle of alcohol. Couldn't they run to a bara brith? We like the area but wouldn't stay at The Grange again or recommend it.

Thank you for this feedback. It is really helpful and we will look to improve on the areas you have identified. Property Owner

  • "Excellent location and very spacious."

Property not clean on arrival. Grease on cooker hob. Dead flies on floors and sills. Sand on ground floor bathroom. Wholly inadequately sized under counter freezer and fridge for 6 people which had not been defrosted for some time (not everyone eats out every day). Upstairs toilet not functioning. One shower for 6 people not adequate. When reading the visitors book the same comments have been made on a number of occasions which all relate to the lack of regular care and maintenance by the owners. A great pity as it is a lovely property in a wonderful location.

I’m sorry to hear the property wasn’t up to our usual standard. This is certainly unusual as can be seen by our recent reviews. I will speak to our property manager. Thank you for making us aware of this. Property Owner

Our 30yr old son came with us this time and he was really impressed. Cottage is very large and has everything to make it an enjoyable stay and in a great location. St Brides and The Castle in the village do excellent food, would recommend a visit to Picton Castle Gardens and take the tour if you can. Too many walks and lovely beaches to mention. The Pembrokeshire coast is so beautiful, we love it here and at The Grange - I’m sure we’ll return.

  • "Loved this holiday cottage."

Excellent location for seeing the area and we were lucky enough to have great weather so we saw it at its beautiful best. The cottage is easily big enough for a family but as there was only the 2 of us we had bags of room to spread out. It is also is very well equipped, comfortable and well maintained. We felt really at home. The only thing that is missing is a tumble drier. Not a problem when the sun shines as there is a good clothes line, but in wet weather a family might find drying more challenging. Lovely garden. The hill up from Little Haven is very steep but we found it easy to walk to Broadhaven and back. We are certainly considering a return visit.

Stayed here two years ago (just after the first lockdown) and came back with family this year - taking the Grange and Foxglove Cottage. Very good facilities and equipment. Kitchen is great for families with large table for meals and games. Comfortable beds. Garden big enough for games with the children. Close to Little Haven and Broad Haven beaches and cafes / restaurants etc (walked down each day). Great weather first week and second week not so hot and allowed us to explore more. Would recommend.

Wonderful location with a short walk to the beach and pubs. A great base to explore Pembroke, hit the beaches for a spot of body boarding and paddle boarding. Once you get off the narrow country lanes there’s some great cycle trails to explore too. My teenage daughter was very relieved to find a strong 4G signal and Wi-Fi at the cottage

  • "We loved our weeks stay at The Grange."

The cottage has everything you need for a lovely stay, a very well equipped kitchen and is very comfortable and warm. The front room has an open fire and was lovely to see a real fire in the evening. Whilst there were only two or us staying here the house is large and would easily accommodate 6 adults. The walk into Little Haven really does take less than 10 minutes, we ate at two lovely pubs; The Castle and St Brides, both served very good food. There is a steep hill on the way but the road is not too busy. If you like walking there are so many lovely costal walks around the area including Marloes, Solva, St Davids, Bosherton and the Lily Ponds at Stackpool which we found by mistake and is not to be missed. There are some beautiful beaches too. Certainly would recommend staying at the Grange without any hesitation.

  • "The cottage was ideal for our family of 5."

The beach was only 7 minutes walk away and its absolutely amazing, the walks are fantastic. There are plenty of things to do for the kids within a 30 minute drive from the cottage. The town of Tenby is definitely worth visiting and then there's the oakwood theme park which was unfortunately closed due to time of the season. We did go to to the Blue Lagoon indoor water park which was great fun and the Heatherton outdoor adventures which again the kids enjoyed. The cottage itself was good with plenty of space and the facilities in the kitchen was perfect with everything you could need being there. The only negatives were plenty of dead or dying flies, but this was due to the time of the season with the temperatures dropping. Also the cold water pressure in the upstairs bathroom was very low and at times trickling through. The smell of the drying coffee in the boiler room left a really bad smell near the entrance to the cottage which became non existent by the time we left.

There was an issue with the boiler on arrival but this was quickly addressed . Little Haven has three good pubs/restaurants the best of which is the St Bride's , excellent seafood and other choice all very reasonably priced. Walking to the restaurants involves a steep hill as is often the case with harbour villages. the location is good for exploring the coastal path around St Bride's bay and towards Dale. The Griffin in Dale is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner.

  • "This is a lovely cottage - perfect for a family holiday but it is misleading to describe the village of Little Haven as 'a stroll' away and that the pub is 'a 10 minute walk' when in fact both are only accessed by very steep, narrow lanes."

Even in the owners very useful and detailed guide which was emailed to us a week or so before, and a copy of which is in the cottage, Little Haven and Broad Haven are described as a 5 and 10 minute walk away. No mention at all is made of the steepness of the walks. Please change the description to accurately reflect the walks to the nearby villages, beaches and shops. Otherwise the cottage was fantastic - a lovely base to explore Pembrokeshire.

  • "Yes. The caretaking resource needed to properly prepare the property for new arrivals is probably insufficient."

For example. 1. 2 bedside lights left in landing with no light bulbs. No spare light bulbs locatable, therefore had to buy replacements. A hassle. 2. Some areas not swept or hoovered. When we did this ourselves the hoover was blocked/not picking up which was quite telling. Spent time unblocking it so areas could be hoovered. A hassle. 3. Despite clear instructions in the owners instructions that all waste bags would be collected on the Saturday ( we stayed 2 weeks), no collection was made meaning we had to dispose of some rubbish elsewhere. A hassle. Only one recycling bag provided for 2 weeks was insufficient.
