Located in the heart of Perranporth, the Perranzabuloe Museum offers a fantastic environment for families where they can learn all about Perranporth and the surrounding villages’ fascinating history. The museum covers many topics from wartime activities in the area to the parish’s rich mining history, and even explores the agricultural history of the land. Along with all the original displays the museum has added three new features for 2015, including a display dedicated to Winston Graham, the author of Poldark who lived in Perranporth for 34 years.

Price: The museum is free to visitors but for those wishing to become “Friends of the Museum” there is a £10 annual membership fee. Although the museum is free donations are appriciated.

Opening times: Open from Easter until October, weekdays from 10:30am to 4:30pm and Saturdays 11am to 1pm.

With a three-mile stretch of beautiful golden sands, a natural tidal pool and some of the best waves in the UK, Perranporth beach is the ideal spot for a family day out. Perranporth’s soft sand is perfect for building sand castles, playing football or even a game of rounders, and with so much space available you can really stretch out. If you’d rather be in the sea than on the sand, then Perranporth has a wonderful selection of water-based activities to try, from surfing to sea kayaking or simply paddling in the shallows, there is something to suit all members of the family.
