The property

Forest Holidays Silver Birch cabin is one of 58 cabins found within a woodland meadow of Cropton Forest in the North York Moors.

Experience a one-of-a-kind break with all the comforts of home, easy dining options and activities and extras that will make it an unforgettable holiday in nature. Escape into a corner of calm in the forest, with muted shades of slate blue and soft grey complemented by weathered oak furniture and floor-to-ceiling views, in a cabin built to sit sensitively within the woodland. A great choice for group getaways and families, the Silver Birch has everything you need for your self-catering break, with high-spec fittings, botanical inspired accents, fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the trees. With cabin doors that open right out into the forest, you’re in the best spot possible for catching a glimpse of Tawny owls and Roe deer in the woodland meadow of Cropton Forest.

Take a trip through the trees at Go Ape, Dalby Forest or sample craft ales on The Great Yorkshire Brewery Tour.

You’re also close to seaside fun at Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hoods Bay. Great for accessibility, you can hire all-terrain mobility scooters to explore the forest, and get involved with lots of activities to keep everyone entertained – from archery to pony trekking. In the forest, book a range of Forest Ranger activities that will help you connect with nature and the forest around you – from Nature Tots for under-5s, to Wildlife Wonders and Survival Skills, for any age. When you book a Forest Holiday you're supporting nature too – they're stewards of 244.5 hectares of forest, managing the land for conservation and creating spaces in nature for people to stay.

About the location

CROPTON FOREST

Wildlife feels closer than ever in the woodland meadow of Cropton Forest. This spot is right near Yorkshire’s rugged beaches and under open skies is perfect for stargazing. Cropton is in the heart of one of the UK’s most dramatic and beautiful counties and it’s possible to catch a glimpse of tawny owls and roe deer. There are hundreds of walks you can take around Cropton Forest. Some begin from your cabin door at Cropton, some take you across miles of moorland or along dramatic coastal paths and others are climbs to waterfalls, rocky outcrops and magnificent views. The North Yorkshire coast is just a 45-minute drive and offers the bucket-and-spade beach appeal of Scarborough, the Gothic allure of Whitby and fishing and smuggling heritage of the harbour town of Robin Hood’s Bay.
