  • "Perfect location in centre of village, close to the cathedral / river / shops / cafes."

Flat is quite dark but it was the middle of October. Lounge is small but cosy. Bedrooms very big. Flat has everything you need. Garden at rear with seating looking down to the river, lovely for a morning coffee. Great walks around area.

It really is a home from home place and is very cosy and comfortable. It has a lovely garden and looks out over the River Tay. It is very central to all the shops, pubs, restaurants and walks in the area. Would definitely recommend this wee gem of a place.

  • "On arrival at 2."

57pm, the cleaner was still making up the beds and asked us to go away and come back in 30 mins. I wasn't impressed with this. I had my 80-year-old mother with me, and it was cold and raining. We used the bathroom, and it was evident that it still had to be cleaned too. She apologised and said she'd only just arrived and was running late. We came back 30 mins later, and she was gone - not sure how she managed a proper clean in that time.... I stayed here last year and had a great time. This year, we had people above us, which was awful. Every step generates a loud sqweak, and we could hear the conversation above us. Definitely spoilt our stay. Inside property is looking tired. Huge piece of paint has come off bathroom window, grout on floor tiles is dirty and stained, rust marks over radiator- all make it a bit tired. Inside door of the fridge is broken, and further use in this state will make the shelf unusable. On entering the twin room, the bedside lamp on left side as you look in to the room isn't working. Kitchen and livingroom clocks not working - need batteries replaced. The rug in the livingroom in front of the fire is grubby. All wall hangings and light fittings need dusted. The srench coming from the hoover is awful. On arrival I needed to hoover the whole property as there was debris on the floors and i used floor wipes to clean mud marks up. Shouldn't have to do this on arrival.

  • "Dunkeld is perfectly placed for exploring the amazing Perthshire countryside and towns, and no."

8 Cathedral Street is perfectly placed within Dunkeld. The cottage is clean and comfortable, and set in a peaceful corner of Dunkeld, but close to shops and, of course, the cathedral. There are a good number of very pleasant walks from the cottage, especially along the riverside, so a good number of days, we didn’t drive anywhere. We had no difficulty parking in Cathedral Street during our stay, although I can see that it might be tricky. We would definitely stay at no. 8 Cathedral Street again.

  • "We stay in Dunkeld 2-3 times annually."

First stay at 8 Cathedral. We contacted your office wideway thru the stay to outline a few of the issues namely: There’s no freezer or dishwasher No cleaning products so had to go out and buy as unfortunately it’s not the cleanest of places We had a 10 day stay so needed to vacuum. The vile odour emitted from the vac was as my husband said ‘smells like vomit has been vacuumed up’ utterly disgusting. The garden was unkempt with cigarette butts scattered and overflowing waste bins On the Saturday of our stay the overhead neighbours teenage daughter held a party! noise from same was so loud we couldn’t hear our tv, after we spoke with them they agreed to turn down this lasted half an hour but resumed til midnight. You may want to note that this young woman informed us that she was moving into this apartment full time, god help anyone planning on a peaceful break. Overall without doubt our worst stay in Dunkeld

Dear Guest. First, id like to to say how sorry we are that your stay didn't meet your expectations. As you can see from our many great reviews, this is not the norm, and really far from it. When we spoke on the 2nd Saturday of your stay, reference the noise complaint, you had said that you thought party was over, and everyone had left the neighbours property, this was between 2030 and 2100. We also agreed that if the group returned later that night you would call me, and I could deal with the noise by contacting the young lady's Father, who, I found out ,had agreed to let her use the flat for her 18th birthday party. But as I didn't hear from you, I had thought everything was fine. You didn't mention any of the other issues to me at the time, but I'm happy to go through them for future guests peace of mind. No freezer or dishwasher - This was my flat in Dunkeld when I lived there; I always shopped local (I would encourage all guests to do this), so when re-doing the kitchen I went for the larger fridge, and as I lived alone I didn't see the need for a dishwasher and went for more storage space instead. As things need replacing, I will add items more suited to guests, but for now I will point you to the "Summary" section on the booking page where you will find a detailed list of all appliances. Cleaning products - this can mean different things to different people, but there is washing up liquid, cloths, scrubbers etc supplied, and other than that, the flat is cleaned on each change over. On longer stays, guests also have the option of a mid stay change over to suit their needs. Vacuum cleaner - this is a strange one. I had the cleaner check this, and was told that the bag was about 2/3 full but that there was nothing out of the ordinary. This is the vac the cleaner uses every week, but granted, sometimes things get missed, it also doesn't say in the feedback if the guest cleaned up whatever her husband could smell. Ether way, the bag has been changed and Henry is back in action. Garden - the grass is usually cut every two weeks. Unfortunately due to a personal mater, the gardener wasn't available, and there was a 3 -4 week period where the grass didn't get cut. I didn't know this until after the fact, but the dates align with the guests stay, so my apologies for that. The overflowing bins and cigarette ends are again more than likely due to the 18th birthday party. The bin for the property is emptied at change over, and guests also have the option to have the bins emptied on Tuesdays by local collection; the instructions and dates for this are on the notice board in the kitchen. I would also recommend anyone reading this to look on booking.com for two new positive reviews posted after Sue's stay . Unfortunately these no longer port over to the Sykes site. Property Owner

Flat was clean , spacious, warm and well presented - had everything we needed for our stay. It's great to have Netflix for the evenings too. We had no problems with the signal. Very close to shops & hotels, and everythingyou need. Lovely riverside walks on your doorstep. Parking can be a bit tricky as it's a one-way street and there's not much space at the end to negotiate a 3 point turn - but I managed! Garden looked a little tired and sparce, could do with a bit sprucing up, the gate could do with some paint - but my golden retreiver had a safe green space to play in, so no complaints from her! Overall, a fab stay! So fab, we're booked up again for next year!

Very central to the village. Walking distance to the river, some local walks, butchers, bakery and salmon shop. 2) Cleanliness - the cottage was extremely clean which was nice to see on arrival. 3) Lovely warm cottage - there's a nice electric fire to warm the living room. 4) Internet - good speed to stream TV and use your phone 5) Beds - really comfy 6) Nice welcoming gifts - wine and treats on arrival. Just 2 negatives, the first of which would unfortunately put us off coming back to this lovely apartment. 1) Noisy and rude neighbours live upstairs. This was the only real negative of our holiday, but spoiled parts of our trip. The people that live upstairs (not holiday let) are noisy and were also rude towards us. On multiple occasions throughout our holiday, there was extremely loud music playing (causing the ceiling to vibrate) - we escaped the noise by watching our laptop in the second bedroom, but this isn't what you want to do on your holiday! The first time this happened was on our first morning (Saturday), which started playing at around 8.30am! It's worth being aware that their floorboards are creaky so you can head their children / dog running around upstairs. You can also hear their TV when it's on. If you want a quiet, peaceful location, I'd seriously consider this one is for you, as it would be difficult to have a long lie in with the noise made upstairs. The man that lives upstairs was rude towards us on a few occasions, making snide remarks towards us under his breathe and sniggering at us when we saw him outside, not like the rest of the really friendly people in the rest of Dunkeld. 2) Parking - limited free parking on the road (it's a narrow street and hard to turn your car around on unless it's small).

Very nice welcoming goody basket. This is a delightful well furnished and laid out flat. It is thoughtfully kitted out, spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is lots of useful information on what to do and where to go, and also on the equipment in the flat. The flat is a hop skip and a jump away from shops, river, playpark, and Cathedral. Cathedral Street must have the highest concentration of Historical or Architectural Award plaques in the country. Dunkeld is a lovely historical village, bustling by day and tranquil by evening, and full of friendly people. Great chippy. It is a excellent centre for exploration in all directions. Don't be put off by on-street parking. It can be busy during the day but you are spoiled for choice from early evening on. The “bad” bits. The frying pan is twisted and you have to keep chasing your eggs uphill. The mirrors are too high for vertically challenged people. The door handles squeak and need oiled. The upside to this is that you get warning of a small child on an early morning tickle mission. We (Granny, Grampa, Mummy and 4 year old) will be happy gto go back again.

The table and chairs was really useful and enabled us to eat outside . Very central for all local amenities and walks . The one comment is that as soneone who likes to cook , the kitchen could do with more utensils as had no serving spoons at all , The back door sticks on opening and had scratched the floor . There was lots of moving around and general "lumping " about, but it was at 11 pm to well after midnight and again at 5:30 am to after 7 am, and this was every night. We're not unreasonable people - they could well be working folk, not holiday makers, but by the end of the week we were shattered from lack of sleep. This is not what we go on holiday for. To the point that we often found a puddle of water under the loo and sink in the morning from the collection over the night. Also leaning back against the water tank of the loo was not advised as this was often also wet with condensation. I am not sure how you could sort it out but I would advise you to look into it.
