The cottage is well set up, tastefully furnished and very comfortable even in really cold weather. It’s also very quiet and easily accessible to main towns by bus or car. Surrounding area is delightful and good for walking. Definitely a winner as a holiday cottage.

  • "No problems."

Met expectations. Few comments... Loved hall area for the dog and getting boots on and off. Didn't find a light which would have been helpful. Nice to see the general information that was included. A lot of condensation produced, especially when using bathroom; we tried to air it by opening windows but still were shutting it up damp when we went out. An extractor might help. Next time I'd get a grocery delivery for our first night. Nearest supermarket was a long way after a near 4 hour journey. We don't tend to go back a second time to places but feel we would recommend on. Thank you.

Thank you very much for your feedback and for recommending Pine Cottage. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay here. I hope one day you may decide to come to visit again. Property Owner

Spacious, good sized bedrooms. Very clean. Only problem was regarding the shower - no instruction book. Looked at operating instructions on line, but still could not get it to maintain a temperature so took to having baths instead. A few more cups and a jug in the kitchen would be appreciated. Lots of plates and dishes and welcome pack. Would stay again.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage in lovely village."

Excellent location. Comfy sofa, Netflix was nice and the front garden sitting outside in the Easter sunshine listening to the birds was so relaxing. Some sharper knives (not just some blunt butter ones), more than 4 forks, and more than 4 dinners plates would have made life a little easier, and saved on constant washing up when cooking a big multi-course meal. Its was just a bit odd in the context of so much other great equipment. Maybe previous guests had borrowed them? It didnt really spoil the stay, and we would come back but I though it worth pointing out.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We will look into your comments and hopefully we will be able to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

Nice walks locally. Quiet & pleasant cottage. NB.The only problem I had was the front door lock kept jamming, so I got locked in a few times. The washing machine area in shed a bit messy , needs a clean up. But apart from that it's great, nice having Netflix to watch in evenings. Few board games might be an idea. Thank you .

Thank you so much for your feedback and for bringing the lock to our attention as that has now been repaired and I will make sure the washing machine area is thoroughly cleaned. I hope we will be able to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

  • "Fantastic cottage in a quiet area of Snainton, which is right in between Pickering (9 miles) and Scarborough (12 miles), but you can also get to Whitby, Bridlington, Malton and York very easily (all within an hour's drive)."

We took our near 2 year old son and all the amenities are there available to take a young child (high chair, cutlery, plastic plates, cups and baby gate at the bottom of the steps). Both bedrooms are king sized so it was very easy to put our sons travel cot in either room (we chose the room with the two single beds in), which is something that we have struggled with in the past. There is plenty of off-street parking and very good washing facilities. It is next to Snainton Riding school, so our son of course enjoyed looking at the horses. The only downside is there is no local convenience store, with the closest being 5 miles away, but that definitely should not put someone off. With the fact that the cottage is joined with Pine Cottage, effectively a person could book up a 5 bedroom property, for say grandparents to come along. That is something we are definitely looking at in the future, and if we were thinking of the Yorkshire Moors area, this would certainly be our first choice.

Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the cottage and felt it was well equipped for your son as we try very hard to make it comfortable for families as well as couples. We hope very much to see you all again in the future! Property Owner

  • "We came to Pine Cottage after finding it through Sykes and a lovely lady called Paula helped us!"

When we arrived the cottage was nice and cosy, the fire is lovely! There was only one extra toilet roll and half a roll of kitchen roll and no extra dishwasher tablets so we had to buy all those things ourself, but didn’t complain. The plates and cups are all mainly chipped which is really bad for germs especially in this climate! The beds were super comfy and the garden was good for the dogs although not very private. We enjoyed the stay and didn’t complain about any of the above, just got on with it! When it came to near the end of our stay, my partner had had a migraine the whole stay and so she asked the owner if we could maybe stay an extra few nights and pay as it was not booked out! The owner replied saying yes and would do it as an ‘owners booking’ and said a price, which we accepted and dropped the cash off the next day to then receive a abrupt text saying that she meant ‘per night’, which was not stated at all and was an error on the owners part. We let her know we had been and done a full shop of fresh and frozen food and my partner had had her medication sent recorded delivery but the owner didn’t care, she just was very abrupt and came across quite aggressive on the telephone call, where she stated she would not wait in to send back the medication, as she’s too busy! So we are now out of pocket from the shopping, the medication, the extras we had to buy and the customer service or lack of it was appalling as the error was total in the owners hands. We will not be returning or recommending as the way the situation was dealt with was very unprofessional and unkind. Paula was fab though and very lovely throughout and helpful but due to the owners lack of acknowledgment of her own misdoing, the trip became very sour!

Thank you for your review, I'm so pleased that on the whole you enjoyed the cottage and the dogs enjoyed the garden. Following your observation of the crockery we've been in to the cottage and done a thorough check of all crockery and not managed to find any chips. Again we can only offer our apologies about the mix up regarding extending your stay. Property Owner

The gas fire made the lounge cosy and being able to eat in kitchen was a plus on chillier evenings. We didn’t realise there were outside tables and chairs and they are not in the pictures. May be worth updating the photo. Also cottage does not face the road so it was more secluded sitting out in the garden than we had thought a ‘front’ garden would be. All pluses. Very clean throughout and comfy beds.
