The north western coastline is a mix of plunging cliffs, pink

puffins...wildlife abounds and there's plenty of drama
underwater too - superb if you're a diver.
In the north east, walk the spectacular Trotternish Peninsula
and be intrigued by the sounds of traditional
Gaelic.
Central Skye is a playground for the mountaineer, land of The
Cuillin, a riot of jagged peaks, with sheer ridges and vertical
faces. Larger settlements are also here, like Broadford and
Portree, the island's capital.
Head south to a gentler landscape on the Sleat Peninsula. Call
in at Ord Bay for the best view of The Cuillin at sunset and
don't miss the village of Ardvasar.
Unearth historic treasures like Dunvegan Castle, discover more
about Skye's heritage at the Museum of Island Life, or find the
perfect keepsake at an arts and crafts' demonstration.
What else? Boat trips, sailing, fishing, cycling, golf, pony
trekking, dinosaur and toy museums...everything imaginable.
Fancy a bite to eat? You're in for a treat, with shellfish,
locally reared meat and game, organic vegetables and cheeses, not
forgetting local ale, whisky and water. As locals say,
'Slainté'!
