This is a fantastic place for families, with two long, sandy
beaches either side of the harbour. Tots will love the donkey rides
and building sandcastles, while tweens and teens will have great
fun splashing around at Leisure World, with its wave pool and
slides. There are also a couple of fun fairs.
Interesting attractions include Old Penny Memories, showcasing all
kinds of antique slot machines and 'Beside the Seaside', a
rather aptly named museum that offers a fascinating glimpse of what
holidays used to be like in Bridlington as far back as Victorian
times.
Enjoy a day's fishing or a sightseeing trip along the
Heritage Coastline. Or delve into the harbour's past at the
Bridlington Harbour Heritage Museum. Follow the 'Old Town
Trail' and find lovely old pubs, antique shops, galleries and
tearooms.
Perched high on the cliffs above Bridlington Bay, Sewerby Hall
and Gardens is a great place for a daytrip, with children's
zoo, museum, pitch and putt, exquisite gardens to amble around and
much more. And if you're keen to explore a little further
afield, it's just a short drive to Flamborough Head where
there's an RSPB Reserve and also to the idyllic villages of the
Wolds.
Come evening, stroll along Bridlington's promenades and
relish fish and chips out of paper. Or sample a little culture and
look out for famous faces at the Spa Theatre.
