Just show me Camelford Cottages
Although the town hall has a weather vane in the shape of a golden camel, this attractive town has no associations whatsoever with camels! However, it is steeped in history and legend and makes a great base for touring north Cornwall.
Situated on the River Camel at the edge of Bodmin Moor, our Camelford cottages are perfect for lovers of the countryside, with miles of way-marked paths all around. Walk, cycle or ride along the Camel Trail to Padstow. Or head to the coast, just six miles away, and walk the South West Coastal Path, gateway to amazing seascapes and pretty fishing villages like Boscastle and Tintagel. And if a wet suit's more your style, expect sensational surfing on sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see.
Explore the wild landscapes of Bodmin Moor littered with fascinating ancient relics. Sort out fact from fiction at the Arthurian Centre, a great day out for all the family with special events, brass rubbing, nature trail, play castle and more. Fish for your Camelford cottage supper at Crowdy Reservoir. Or plan your stay around the Camelford Agricultural Show, a traditional country show attracting locals and visitors alike.
Back in town, you'll find museums, galleries, historic buildings like Bridge House and the Mason's Arms, an arts centre, theatre and shows at Clease Hall, plus a good choice of shops, restaurants, tearooms and so on.
In fact, there's plenty to please everyone on a Camelford cottage holiday!
