  • "Very good facilities."

spotlessly clean. good communication. only downside of the lodge was position of the hot tub. it wasnt and didnt feel private in any way. hot tub itself though was very good.

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback! We're delighted to hear that you had such a enjoyable stay at our lodge. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future! we are suprised on your comment on the privacy of the hot tub. All hot tubs have 5ft fencing around them. Paddock lodges team Property Owner

  • "The lodge was very nice and comfortable."

We was pleasantly suprised at how well equipped it was. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The beds were very comfy. On arrival the place looked clean and tidy however after being there for 5 mins my socks got covered in dog fur from a previous tenant. Luckily there was a hoover in the cupboard so I could hoover up all the dog hair. The fridge and freezer had also been left off so they were warm and a bit stinky when we arrived. The hot tub was perfect for us as a family of 3. But you would struggle to fit 4 adults in comfortably. We also wasn't too keen on the location of marigold lodge on the park itself as the hot tub sat right on the drive way. Which was fine when sitting in as the fence created privacy But when we got out of the hot tub we were on display to anyone passing by. There is parking for 1 car and they are small spaces. When we arrived a neighbour had also parked right next to our lodge as they had 2 cars. They wanted to leave it there but we requested they move it as it was right by our hot tub area. But there is limited additional parking. All of these issues were minor to us though and didn't spoil our time away. The location was perfect for us to explore the coast. Whitby, Robin hoods bay, falling Foss and Scarborough. It was very quiet there too which we liked and we visited the pub round the corner which served delicious food. We would return again in the future but maybe book a different lodge which has more privacy.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at Marigold Lodge. We appreciate your kind words about the comfort and well-equipped nature of our lodge. However, we sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay. It's disappointing to hear about the presence of dog fur and the warm fridge/freezer upon your arrival. We have addressed this with our housekeeping team to ensure a more thorough inspection and cleaning process. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the surrounding area, explored the coastline, and had a pleasant dining experience at the nearby pub. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we hope that these minor inconveniences did not overshadow the enjoyment of your time away. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back for a more enjoyable experience. Warm regards, Paddock lodges team Property Owner

  • "Fantastic week at Marigold Lodge, everything you could need."

Home from home, the added bonus would have been a clothes airer but the site does have a dryer so we could manage for our stay. 10/10. Comfy beds, very clean, we don’t have a dog but you certainly couldn’t tell it is a property that allow dogs. Fantastic location, 10 minute walk down to the beach, it is very steep walking up and down but so worth it, clean beach with a cafe and ice cream shop, toilets and parking. A very short walk is Runswick Bay Hotel at the entrance to the site which serve amazing food and the staff are fantastic. We will be back!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear you had a fantastic week at Marigold Lodge and found everything you needed. Your positive comments about the cleanliness, comfort, and location are truly appreciated. We're thrilled you enjoyed the beach and the nearby amenities. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon! The only problem with the property is the water pressure and the noise it generates I found slightly disturbing otherwise fantastic accomodation a bit isolated if your bringing children if you don't get the weather they find it boring we had some bad weather which also brought problems with the TV and WiFi otherwise fantastic place

Many thanks for your feedback. We are not sure what the issue with the pressure is your referring to? This wasn't raised with the maintenance team during your stay but we will take a look. We are sorry the weather wasn't the best during your stay. Typically british summer. We are pleased you found the lodge fantastic and hope to see you again. About the location

STAITHES

Whitby 10 miles.

The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. Staithes is still home to an RNLI lifeboat station and a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) landing fish, crab and lobster, with boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and even whale watching available. It’s also the location of the popular BBC children’s TV series, Old Jack’s Boat. Staithes has a strong attraction for artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops regularly on offer. There’s a free Illusion Trail, which guides visitors around the network of ginnels (alleyways), with trail guides available locally. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.
