  • "Great little cottage, centrally located in the town."

Thoughtfully furnished and equipped by the owners. Would definitely recommend when staying in Beaumaris.

  • "We absolutely loved staying at Seagull cottage, it was beautifully decorated, really cosy and a perfect location for us."

I wanted to complete this as our daughter (3) had an accident whilst we were staying at the cottage and as such I wanted to feedback that perhaps the cottage isn't suitable for small children. Despite the babygate being securely fastened she slipped off the top step and fell head first into it, it then burst open and we were lucky she didn't fall the whole way down. She did end up with a big bump on her head but thankfully was fine the next day. Accidents happen, especially with small kids but I wanted to write so that you are aware. I don't mind if you don't want to publish this feedback as we were probably just unlucky but it's up to you.

  • "We spent an enjoyable half term break at Seagull Cottage."

The cottage is small but the most is made of the space and it is furnished and decorated to a high standard. The owner was really helpful when I needed help to understand the workings of the shower. He popped 'round and explained everything to me. As other reviewers have said the stairs are tricky at the top so maybe not suitable for young families. The chocolate cake, milk and Prosecco on arrival were very welcome. Overall the cottage was a good base for our week on Anglesey.

  • "A lovely cosy cottage ideal for a break anytime of year."

Ideal for enjoying the festive spirit of Beaumaris or those long summer days on the Isle of Anglesey. The cottage had great interior design that offered modern comforts whilst celebrating the heritage of the locality. The owners were adept at providing those additional touches that made you feel welcome and a valued member of the local community for the duration of your stay. The cottage is ideally situated to ensure that you can make the most of your stay - whether that be enjoying the many restaurants, bars, pubs and cafés or long (and short!) walks around the mesmerising coast of the Isle of Anglesey. Also it iis deally situated for a short journey by bus or car into the city of Bangor to enjoy all a city and it's highly regarded university can offer.

  • "We had a perfect week staying in Seagull Cottage ( my husband and me)."

The little pink cottage was well executed; It was a small cottage, but well laid out and had everything you needed for a weeks holiday. A cosy lounge with a comfy sofa and smart TV, a charming well stocked kitchen, smart bathroom upstairs with a large double bedroom and twin, both beautifully furnished. The double bed was large and very comfortable with good pillows ( always a must for a week away). The stairs were steep and narrow ( I have mobility issues, but was fine moving up and down on my bottom). There was an excellent safety gate at the top of the stairs. Outside was a gorgeous little courtyard with garden lights ; would be lovely in the summer for drinks in the evening. There was an outhouse with washing machine and separate dryer, ironing board and iron and plenty of room to do the ironing!! Seagull cottage was close to everything in Beaumaris- the bakers, high street, pubs, shops and beach. We regularly stay in cottages in Beaumaris and this was another great stay. We would recommend this cottage for 2/3 people - perfect for a couple. There was no outside parking, but we never expect this in Beaumaris and park on the green for a week which is reasonably priced The street was quiet and full of character. The only thing to note was the “open fire” we would interpret this as a “real fire”, but it was an electric log effect burner. Aside of this seagull cottage was a delight! Thank you :)

  • "The second time we have stayed in this lovely cottage."

Well equipped, full of character, and conveniently situated in the heart of Beaumaris, which is the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful island. The only minor drawback is the lack of parking space but there is ample public parking a few minuted walk away. Will definitely stay here again.

  • "We had a wonderful stay in Seagull Cottage."

There was a very helpful book explaining how everything worked and where everything was. There were some nice treats left for us. We were lucky with parking on local side roads. The outside space is small, but lovely for sitting out having a coffee or glass of wine. As others have put, the stairs are steep due to it being an old listed cottage. This may be tricky for toddlers or those with a disability. We would definitely book again and recommend to others. Our teenage daughters both loved it too, and that is praise indeed!

  • "A really lovely little cottage, compact and nicely decorated."

The owners left us milk, cake and a bottle of wine on our arrival. Facilities were just as described. Washing machine and tumble dryer in an outhouse in the back yard. There’s no parking directly outside but I bought a weekly pass for the green at £35 which worked well. You get a key card for this so you can enter and leave at any time. Beaumaris is as lovely as I remembered it from my childhood. Sunday lunch at the Liverpool Arms was great, and great value. A curry at Sarisa’s was also good.

  • "We had a wonderful stay here."

The house is small but every inch is used to its potential and so you have everything you could need. The bedrooms are a good size, nicely decorated and comfortable. The location is great, just a short walk to everything you need in the lovely town of Beaumaris which is also a perfect place to be based ready for visiting the rest of Anglesey. The parking is ok, it’s only a 10 minute walk to the Green (admittedly not ideal when it rains but not a major issue!) we had a lovely holiday and our two girls say it was their best holiday ever!

It really is a home from home with everything you could need. Read the Welcome book ASAP though, or like me you will be searching high and low for cutlery to make a cup of tea, which the book tells you is in a drawer in the table!

  • "Overall we found the property nice and handy for the town."

Although there wasn't on site parking I managed to park nearby on the local streets. There was two issues that I should mention, the first one is the stairs which are quite steep and I understand that there is nothing that can be done about this and I think it was mentioned in the description so maybe I shouldn't even mention it. The other problem was the TV, trying to get channels was awkward. To get any program on bbc had to be done through iPlayer which I managed but my wife and sister would have had no chance, they would have had to ring the owner up to come and sort it out. Surely this could be sorted out so that you can simply select the channel number needed.

The owners have made excellent use of every nook and cranny for storage that increases space. The little garden is delightful. Has everything you would need for a week away in Anglesey. Centrally located in Beaumaris, with lots of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Also good base for visiting other parts of the island. Would recommend The Gazelle for great food and beautiful views. The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneiger for fantastic food and Bull Bay golf club for golfers, again beautiful views, great food and fab course.

  • "Seagull cottage is fantastic!"

It's in a great location (a quiet street but near the seafront) in Beaumaris. It's beautifully decorated inside with some great use of colour. Lovely furnishings, very comfortable beds. There are lots of thoughtful touches - eg. strings of lights in the outdoor area, a 'sail' in the shed for shade on hot days. It's super well equipped - there is nothing we couldn't find. Must mention though that being on a narrow street parking is tricky. However there is safe parking on 'The Green' near the castle just 5 minutes walk away for a reasonable weekly fee, which is what we chose to do. The owners are lovely. The island is lovely. What's not to like? We will definitely return.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
