  • "Great place to stay when going to Dublin!"

You have all you need and the place is neat, comfy and quietish. We just found a slight smell of gas when using the combi boiler which prompted us to ajar the windows. The sounds from the flat upstairs were heard early in the morning, but the rest was fine. Definitely a place to stay when going to Dublin!

  • "The property was clean and adequate for its purpose however it is in a very undesirable area which impacted on our stay."

Anglesey is very nice with many wonderful walks and the people were very welcoming. On the whole it’ was only a base to stay however due to its unsavoury location we would not stay at this property again .

  • "Flat was really comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our holiday in spite of poor weather!"

I really did not like all the fake plants around. We needed the space they took up to put our own possessions, so they were consigned to the top of the wardrobe out of the way. I believe that fake plants get dusty so they are unhygienic in these post Covid times. The TV went wrong and my phone call to EB lettings was answered straight away and the problem dealt with promptly and in a friendly way by Ian who called in straight away. We will certainly be coming back to North Wales and would book with Sykes Cottages again. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Hi Robert, Thanks for your good and honest review. Also a shame the weather wasn’t good during your visit, hopefully it’s better when you come back! KR EB Property Owner

  • "TV still not working- was reported earlier in the year."

Horrible location. Glad we did not spend the full week here as originally intended.

Hi Alan, Thanks for your feedback. it’s appreciated the location may not have been suitable for you but it’s clearly advertised as Holyhead. Also The TV issues weren’t reported to us and the Ariel had come free from the back. You’ve also seriously reduced marks for the cleanliness but there was no issues with that. KR EB Property Owner

  • "Wrongfully advertised no maintenance done blocked drain damaged flooring."

Very noisy front door excessive traffic noise no ventilation only one window no TV reception. The flat is situated on main road to the ferry terminal in a derelict block.very cheap and small furniture small double bed and small sofa.received several phone calls from unknown sources asking us to vacate the property to allow a surveyor to enter the flat.which after contacting Sykes it turned out to be their representative in Bangor.

Hi Frank, The plumber reported back that because you had stuffed wet wipes into the toilet it caused a block which was dealt with immediately. The door issue was also rectified. The apartment has a large front window and a medium sized window with 2 doors so the ventilation shouldn't be an issue - appreciated it was one of the hottest days and you guys didn't leave much. All the furniture is of good quality and very comfortable and the building is far from derelict- the 2 apartments have just gone through a very expensive refurbishment with EPC's of C. With the surveyor, we did request access as you informed the maintenance you had to leave unexpectedly so we politely asked on one occasion and from my understanding you were happy for this as you were going. TV didnt work properly. Disappointed that there was a 20 + mile drive to any places of interest.

Hi Maria, Sorry to hear you had issues with the TV, if it was reported our maintenance team is 5 mins away so could’ve easily rectified. With the points of interest, in Holyhead there’s south stack light house/ Penrhos country park/ south stack cliffs RSPB/Holyhead Maritime Museum/Holyhead, break water park/ also just a short drive from Holyhead your spoiled for choice for places to visit ..... Trearddur Bay - 10min drive Valley- 5 min drive Rhosneigr- 12 min drive The list could go on!! Hopefully you'll visit again & get out to visit some beautiful points of interest the area has to offer, again apologies the TV was playing up. KR EB Property Owner

  • "The apartment was very comfortable and clean, but it was advertised with WiFi and although there was a pass word in the folder, there is no WiFi, we tried everything ,in the end my husband and I had to purchase more data, for our phones."

Also we were disappointed with the area, we have stayed in Anglesey before, and it is beautiful, but holyhead is run down and depressing, but after saying all that the apartment was comfortable.

Hi Linda, Apologies you had issues with the internet, unfortunately we weren’t aware of any issues as we could’ve rectified this almost immediately as there is WIFI in both apartments and the previous guests & ones after have not reported any issues. With regards to Holyhead, we find this is a lovely little Welsh port town with much history and many attractions, South stack, Holyhead Mountain, the break water unbelievable costal path walks, just to mention a few. We hope you come again and we can assist with some must visit places in Holyhead and close by. Thanks Property Owner

About the location

HOLYHEAD

Trearddur Bay 3 miles.

The bustling town of Holyhead rests on the North West coast of the Isle of Anglesey, the largest town on the island and perhaps known best for being the main ferry port to Ireland. Steeped in history, the town boasts the remains of Roman town walls and forts, medieval burial chambers and stone village foundations. Explore the Breakwater Country Park, a former quarry, which offers designated walks through the grounds. The park is full of interesting wildlife, most notably the seals who visit the Holyhead coast, and outlines the amazing construction of the world's longest breakwater, some 1.8 miles, which today protects the harbour. Visit the colourful marina with its yachts and tall ships, or the town's maritime museum, with its tales of 100 shipwrecks in the vicinity. Day trips to Ireland can be enjoyed easily from here, with Dublin just 90 minutes away on the fast ferry. With spectacular cliff top walks over Holyhead Mountain, golden sandy beaches at the award winning Trearddur Bay and the Snowdonia National Park just a 20 minute drive away, this is a superb holiday location, at any time of the year.
