About the location

Red Wharf Bay

Beaumaris 3 miles.

Along the north-east coast of Anglesey is a very large (4.5 miles long) bay called Red Wharf Bay. Its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered and provides safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. The large bay attracts a huge number of waterfowl and wading birds, including shell duck, grey plover, purple sandpipers, curlew, oystercatchers and dunlin. Only 3 miles away is the delightful medieval town of Beaumaris which boasts a 13th century moated castle, lovely buildings housing excellent shops, "olde worlde" pubs, restaurants, bistros, museums, as well as a golf course and exciting pleasure boat and sea fishing trips. This is a beautiful location on the east coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey.

Mrs Salomon, St. Helens, February 2014

An excellent cottage, it excelled all our expectations as we have never stopped in a holiday property before. It felt very homely and the owners were lovely. The location was amazing, a really relaxing time was had by ourselves and our dogs.

Mrs Niblett, Stoke-on-Trent, January 2014

This is a beautiful cottage in a stunning location. The owner was very friendly, but did not intrude. The furniture was of good quality, and all matched! It was lovely having a coal fire. The sea views from the lounge, kitchen and main bedroom are just amazing. Being able to walks along the beach right outside the property was fabulous.

Mrs Thomas, Rochester, December 2013
