  • "On Anglesey, as we regularly are, to visit friends and, on this occasion on business, I booked 17 Ffordd Gwenllian for its convenience."

It is indeed very convenient, both for local shops and also as a starting point for exploration of the island. We found the bungalow warm, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Andy's support was also very welcome and reassuring. We found the area quiet, and there is even a lovely view of Yr Wyddfa on a clear day!

Hi Anne Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback. Hope to see you at 17 again soon. Kind Regards Andy Property Owner

  • "What a lovely home from home this is, everything you could ask for and more."

Thank you to our hosts for the welcome bottle of wine and Welsh cakes, there was also tea, coffee, sugar and milk to ensure we could have a brew on arrival. The rear garden backs onto a field of sheep who were very quiet I will add, the property is close to all the necessary amenities ie 2 pubs, a chippy, local shop, a supermarket and a Chinese takeaway. There is also a big souvenir type shop which is worth a visit. The Menai Bridge is only a 5min drive away and there are major roads nearby. We hope to return to this diamond of a bungalow next year. Thanks again to Andy and Tracy for your hospitality.

  • "Very clean and comfortable, being positioned on a housing estate means easy access to local shops but not the beach or country walks, however only a short drive from the busy high street and you are on wonderful country roads."

The two pubs on the high street are in need of some TLC , the holiday bungalow has been recently refurbished but not to a very high standard in our opinion, we loved the parts of Anglesey that we visited and we would like to return to see more but nearer to a rural location.

Hi, I appreciate and acknowledge your feedback as this is very important to me and will take all comments on board , hope to see you soon at Ffordd Gwenllian. Kind Regards Andy Property Owner

The property

Nestled in the heart of the village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll on the picturesque Isle of Anglesey is 17 Ffordd Gwenllian.

This welcoming bungalow benefits from a fantastic location close to local amenities, the coast, the countryside and the mainland as well as off-road parking for two cars, two well-appointed bedrooms, rear garden and a glimpse of the mountains in the distance, all making this a wonderful choice for families, friends or couples looking to explore all Anglesey has to offer.

After a day full of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home, stepping into a spacious living/dining room where the electric fire can warm your feet while you unwind in front of the Smart TV.

Later, head into the fully-equipped kitchen to rustle up a hearty meal that can be enjoyed around the dining table or outside on the rear patio with a view across the fields.

When the evening draws to a close, head back inside to freshen up in the shower room ahead of sloping off to sleep in either of the double bedrooms.

Just a stone’s throw away from the property lies a selection of local stores where you can stock up on all of your self-catering essentials and pubs including The Penrhos Arms and Tafarn Ty Gwyn which both serve delicious food, perfect for a night of celebrations or simply a well-earned break from the kitchen.

Follow the coast to reach the historic town of Beaumaris where you can while away the day exploring it’s breath-taking castle with moat and Beaumaris Gaol and Court or jump on a boat to discover Puffin Island, admire views across the sea or enjoy leisurely strolls across the beach and pier.

For another taste of the coast venture to Niwbwrch (Newborough) to meander through its dense forest which backs the breath-taking, golden shores of Traeth Llanddwyn.

Other nearby, notable attractions include Pili Palas Nature World, Plas Newydd House and Gardens and Anglesey Sea Zoo or cross the Menai Strait to reach the mainland where Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park houses a whole host of activities; there is something for everyone!

All this and more awaits at 17 Ffordd Gwenllian.

About the location

LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLL

Menai Bridge 2 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
