Spotlessly clean, lovely decor, comfy beds and cosy towels. Ideal locations. Brought in the bells to Trump Turnberry fireworks display from the front door! Great walks to the harbour and Turnberry Lighthouse. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back!

  • "The house was clean, well decorated and comfortable."

All the following are minor points. The kitchen needs to be redesigned. A small fridge and miniature icebox are no good it needs a fridge freezer. A redesign could include more cupboards and better working space. Similarly with the living room - swap the TV and the sofa facing it and you have a whole empty corner to put the dining table. A back door light with a sensor is badly needed. It was windy while we were there and the upstairs windows allowed the wind to howl through the house - I wondered why the bathroom door had a robust draft proof fitted to the bottom. Overall though it was a nice house in a nice area - we enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for the great feedback. We have already installed a sensor light to the rear door and have plans to upgrade the kitchen soon. We will take on board the comments in the remodel. Jane Property Owner

  • "Only small problem."

We arrived late and it was dark so we could not see safe numbers at the back door. Fortunately because we had our dog with us we had a torch. Maybe a light in the back would be good otherwise fabulous cottage spotlessly clean and would highly recommend it. Loved the personal touch with biscuits t bags sugar etc and little present for the dog. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the feedback and we hope you enjoyed your stay. We have now installed an exterior light at the rear door to ease access. Kind Regards Jane Property Owner

  • "Loved the place on arrival, great small touches such as milk, tea , coffee, fresh flowers in living room, clean towels and bedding."

The place was very clean and had an airy feel to it. Lovely neighbour who even gave us fresh home grown tomatoes. Nice view to the rear of harbour and next door neighbours carvings and fish pond. However the kitchen was not the best. The indoor oil boiler ruined our stay, the fumes coming from this was unhealthy to say the least, we had to keep the windows and back door open if it was running. We forgot to leave the windows open after a day out to return and walk into a fine infested house, I checked the detector just to see if it was working, twice at night I was wearing if windows closed and boiler running. Plastic tiles beside a cooker not clever, I cooked one meal on it and never used again as I prefer a constant temperature. The washing machine I had to hold down when on soon so not to upset the neighbour. Kitchen inside door handle about to come off. If the kitchen had not been so bad would have been 4 or 5 star.

Hi Alexander, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you felt as thought the kitchen is not up to the standard of the rest of the house. As noted in the handbook we are proposing to upgrade the kitchen fully in time. Prior to commencing letting in July, all necessary upgrades and repairs were made to the central heating and boiler to pass assessment by an OFTEC registered repairer. So hopefully this can put your mind at rest. We will also be checking on the cooker / hob as you noted the temperature issue, this is also new and can be replaced easily. Induction hobs like this are also much safer and should not cause any H&S concerns. We hope you will consider returning to Twenty Two as your feedback has been helpful and you noted many good points too. Many thanks J&A Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, clean and comfortable and only a few minutes stroll to the sea front, large patio area and ample private car parking."

Good base for visiting places such as the lovely Port Patrick to the south or heading north to Ardrossan for day sails to Arran. One bar called Ropes on the front which will allow dogs outside and just a few minutes drive to Balkenna tea rooms.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we are very pleased and proud of the cottage. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Jane Property Owner

About the location

MAIDENS

Maybole 7 miles; Girvan 7.5 miles.

This fishing village sits at the south end of Maidenhead Bay on the Ayrshire coast and looks out to sea with views of Arran and Ailsa Craig and the distant Mull of Kintyre. It was here that Robert the Bruce is acknowledged to have come ashore when he sailed from Rathlin Island in Northern Ireland after his encounter with the spider in the early 14th century. The ancient Earls of Carrick had their seat at Turnberry Castle which today is a ruin. Today Maidens is a popular spot for visitors with its traditional harbour, extensive beach, a couple of restaurants and its close proximity to Turnberry and the spectacular Culzean Castle.
